Finca Hotel Rural Es Turó

We weren't too sure what to expect when we arrived at the hotel but we were extremely pleasantly surprised. The Hotel is full of character both old and new and has an amazing infinity pool at its centre. we were shown to our beautiful room which itself featured a small plunge pool, surrounded by cactuses (cacti?). The hotel was a perfect base for us to explore the local areas of Ses Salines, Santanyi and the many beaches within a 20 minute drive. The staff were friendly enough and the food was ok (would recommend eating in Ses Salines or Santanyi instead) but i would say that you need a hire car to make the most of this gem!

Absolutely fantastic. We had a problem first night we got here our room was not available so went to another room and upgraded for 3 nights after. got complementary meal first night. The staff were so nice and helpful the whole time. My wife spoke to the owner who was so attentive and helpful just like all the staff who we spoke to they are just doing their job perfectly. It was our second time in this property and compared to the previous stay, they have lost their touch and their standards, very dissapointed. The surroundings are dirty, with the swiming pool being in a very bad state, the water of the pool was green and very dirty, the surroundings were not clean enough and the staff were never around, you had to stand up and go and order drinks and food. The food at an establishment like this and for the price we are paying is disgusting, very pricey and bad quality and presentation of the dishes, worst than in a bar. The cleaning in the room is very basic and is done very quickly without the standards shown previously. Fresh pool towels were hardly available everytime we wanted a new clean towel, either we had to wait a long time or we had to leave without a clean towel. Not a place I would like to come back until they really improve their service, food, installations and go back to what they were initially.

Very pretty hotel with character. Very secluded from most things so perfect if you wish to enjoy your peace. Not so much if you are the type who enjoys going to different places in different regions unless you rent a car. Although our experience wasn't so terrible, we found the staff to be quite cunning in terms of organising taxis for us and delivering standard room service. When we tried to cancel a taxi, they tried to convince us we couldn't do so. We had to call the driver ourselves and he simply said "Yes, ok"; to us cancelling. When we tried to cancel via the staff, their argument was, "It's already booked so you can't cancel". We aren't sure if they didn't want to lose their commission with the taxi or something. However, they didn't make it easy for us to cancel within good time as we thought they would have. Additionally, the second we got there, they tried to cheat us into getting a hotel room which wasn't matching the one we thought we had booked based on the pics online. My friend had to INSIST they give us the more spacious room as that is the one she had booked for after looking at the pics online. If you have been to Mallorca before and know the place and customs well, this hotel might be ok. If you (like my friend and I) have never been and most likely need everything to be easily accessible and everyone as helpful as can be, don't go to this hotel.

We booked a 4 night stay here through ******* / **********. The information on the website said the room accommodates 4 people so we booked for 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children). All told, this review has two parts, the issues we experienced and what the hotel did about them. Both are important and I’d argue the later may be even more important. Upon arrival, everything was lovely. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome (including a welcome drink) and the property was beautiful. But during check in, we were told we would have to pay 35€ extra per night for an extra guest. Strange, since we even showed the staff the email confirmation from the third party showing 4 people. We were then taken to our room which was near the main restaurant / bar area (in the section of the numbers 7,8,9 cluster of rooms). The floors were creaky but we didn’t think anything of it. We quickly changed and got ready to go hang out in the beautiful pool area. The pool area is truly beautiful. Amazing views, large pool, plenty of area to lounge, and a bar. We spent the afternoon here and it was truly lovely. Our kids had a blast. Upon returning to our room, we had no hot water. Our kids were showering and dripping wet when we discovered this fact. We informed the staff and the manager (a bearded younger man) told us he would come check it out. He came in (our kids still screaming bloody ****** and wet!) and sure enough it was not fixed. He advised it would work in 30 minutes and told us we could shower in the spa. I take the kids there (no real privacy as people are walking around and there’s no real place to leave towels or clothes other than the gym). I also showered there and my partner opted to wait. We then left to get dinner (we’re gone a couple of hours). Upon return I ask he gentlemen if water is hot now and he says yes. So my partner hops in the shower and…..NO HOT WATER!!! 3 hours after the issue is identified. I’m livid and I go and tell the same manager lead that this is ridiculous and I ask for a manager - he disagrees and said it happens when multiple people shower at the same time. He tells me he’s the highest ranking person and there is no one else to ask for help. Anyways, I ask him what he can do to make it right and he says he can comp our breakfast for the family for the entire stay and that he will speak with the owner about an additional discount. I thought that was nice enough so I go back to the room and we all go to bed. My partner did not want to trek across the property in the dark to shower or pack up all our things and change rooms at night. Now I’d normally say this experience was the worst and that would be a bad review. But being in the service industry, I know things go wrong and I actually thing hoteliers can show their true colors AFTER a mistake. An absolutely beautiful finca, stunning views let down by maintenance. We were put a 200m drive away from the hotel, the 1 bed studio apartment was not maintained, bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom window came off the hinges when I opened it, rusty shower door and the fridge freezer was iced up. We paid for dinner included. When we arrived at the restaurant we asked what was included, the waiter told us everything and took our wine order. When he came back he then said it's only a salad and then cod. So we asked if we could have a salad followed by pasta. He said that was OK. My carvinara was inedible, and I eat everything! The garlic prawn pasta was OK. Breakfast the next day was slow. E asked for bacon and eggs and tea. It took 20 mins to get a cup of tea and 40 for the eggs and bacon. I'm sure mid-season this is an amazing hotel, but what was supposed to be a lovely surprise for my hisbands birthday turned into an expensive disappointment.
