The overall service is OK, the breakfast is monotonous, and the room was not cleaned during the 4-day stay.

I booked a double room for myself and my husband and were allocated room 309. When we went into the room it did not smell very nice. Not quite sure what it was just a stale lingering smell. Not sure if it was the carpets that needed a deep clean ? Maybe someone had been smoking although I appreciate there are smoke alarms so maybe not. There was a cot in the room near an interconnecting room door and the sofa bed whilst not made up was down and taking a lot of space up. We put the air conditioning on hoping that this would help clear the smell as the windows didn’t open so we couldn’t get any fresh air into the room. We mentioned this to staff the next day and we were advised that they would keep the air conditioning on to try to clear the smell. Apparently it has a timer on it hence during the night when I had it on to clear the smell it was off. They also said they would move the cot and that i had asked for one on my booking. As my husband and I are in our 60’s I def did not have need of a cot! And I booked a double room not a family room. I didn’t find the bed or pillow comfy but I. Guess that’s personal preference. The quilt was also very heavy and I would have preferred a summer weight. I was very disappointed with our stay :( Having stayed at many Premier inns this was not up to the usual standard. The bathroom as per usual was of a high standard and I do like the fact that there is bath and shower. I did not have much interaction with the staff other then booking in and mentioning the smell and cot. They were friendly. I was told they would remove the cot but this never happened. Sorry Premier Inn you failed to deliver on this occasion - nothing worse then having to sleep in a stale smelling room

The staff, and staff alone deserve 5 stars! They were all very welcoming and friendly. It was a shame to hear them having to ask for 5 star reviews as otherwise they get marked down. They did provide a 5 star service, however, they were let down by the hotel itself. The WiFi was appalling, although we were told that it would be upgrade very soon. Parking is very limited and one night we had to find on street parking instead (which also meant having to rush out in the morning to pay). The granola dispenser for breakfast was broken. I reported it each morning but sadly nothing seemed to get fixed. It’s difficult to get a 5 star review to a hotel that is not 5 stars, but again, the staff made up for many of the hotels flaws.
