The Swan Valley Retreat

We were genuinely looking forward to our stay at Swan Valley Retreat, especially given the high price point of $1,000 per night. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected, and we left feeling extremely disappointed. During our stay, the power went out, which completely disrupted any chance we had to enjoy the space. We understand that power outages can happen and are often out of a business's control, but what made it worse was the lack of privacy as people were walking around trying to fix the issue, right outside our accommodation. This left us feeling awkward and uncomfortable using the outdoor sauna and spa, as we no longer felt we had any privacy. Despite the disruption, not even a small gesture of compensation was offered for the inconvenience. Things only got worse from there. I had to shower in complete darkness, using my phone torch just to see, which is not what you expect, nor should tolerate when you're paying a premium price. On top of that, the bathroom had water all over the floor due to a leak from the ceiling fan (which we suspect was related to the power issue), so every time we used the toilet, we were stepping in water. To make matters even more uncomfortable, there were people climbing in the roof above us during this time, and we could clearly hear them listening in on our conversation. One of them even commented on what my partner and I were discussing. That level of intrusion is completely unacceptable and a serious invasion of privacy. As for breakfast the next morning, it arrived cold, and the pancakes were stale and rock hard completely inedible. I’m not someone who usually complains, as I understand that sometimes things go wrong. But what really disappointed me was how poorly this situation was handled. No compensation and no acknowledgment of the serious issues we experienced. For a place marketed as a luxury retreat, the lack of care and professionalism was honestly shocking. Would not return, and unfortunately, cannot recommend.

The wife and I stayed in the wine barrel room with private sauna and hot tub. All facilities were spotless, warm and inviting. Part of the package was a 1 hour couples massage which was out of this world. We stayed for only the one night however two would have been perfect to truly immerse yourself and take some time out to enjoy life . I also have to suggest getting the platter on arrival and also for breakfast they were both amazing.

Fabulous stay at the Swan valley retreat! We recieved such a warm welcome which was a nice start to trip. The bed is very comfortable and the room decor is modern with all the amenities you need. A continental breakfast is provided in the room and there is a mini bar for any additional treats. We opted for the breakfast upgrade one day which was also nice. A lovely relaxing retreat, which I would highly recommend.

A friend and I picked the Ladies Day Package which was a half hour back massage followed by facial. The therapists were very professional and engaging. The massage was firm (and they certainly checked if it felt right for us) but just right. Then onto the facial. Going by the quiet little snores by my friend she was as relaxed as I was during our 90 minute experience. After we were treated to a platter of savoury delights and magnificent scones, jam and cream. We also opted to have some bubbles (extra cost but not expensive) plus tea and coffee and sparkling water. Highly recommend

Lovely property grounds with comfortable beds. Only thing we didn’t like was the breakfast items. Not local produce, yoplet yogurt, apple juice from Tassie and cereal from ? where in little packets and not very nice muffins. Instructions did say to heat them but still not fresh tasting. Even the chocolate for sale wasn’t local. Local produce would make such a difference Nice staff at reception and my husband enjoyed his float.
