The room type I booked didn't have a table or chairs, which made it quite inconvenient to bring food back to the room to eat.
The toilet paper in the bathroom was positioned directly behind the toilet lid, making it awkward and inconvenient to grab.
Breakfast was decent, with both Chinese and Western options available. Parking was also provided.
Overall, it was fine. The room was clean and tidy. The spacious and plush decor truly made it feel like being in a forest. They offered many themed rooms, and the one I chose was big enough and had fewer bugs. Service was okay, primarily because there wasn't much service to speak of. However, the restaurant food was excellent, especially at the coffee shop. It instantly felt like a vacation.
Visited in April... The local guesthouse had a very clean and spacious room.
The guesthouse entrance was a bit narrow, so drivers need to be very careful with the surrounding traffic. The first room upon entering felt like the reception, so I stopped to inquire. The staff seemed quite relaxed in their work. I had booked the room in advance via an app, specifically choosing this place because it was advertised as pet-friendly. I also called ahead to confirm and made a note in my reservation.
However, upon arrival at the front desk, I still had to proactively inform them that I had a pet with me, as they charge a deposit and a pet fee (the deposit is refundable upon check-out).
Parking was a free-for-all; cars were parked haphazardly in front of any building where a space was available. It wasn't allocated to your specific room/building. I believe this needs improvement 😮💨. I was staying in one building, but my car ended up parked three or four buildings away, which was really inconvenient for loading and unloading.
Then there was breakfast the next day. Online reviews made it sound good, but in reality, it was a tiny space with only a few limited dishes. The coffee and soy milk were incredibly sweet, to the point of being undrinkable. I was very disappointed.
What upset me the most was that despite being advertised as a pet-friendly guesthouse, they wouldn't allow my dog into the dining area for breakfast. We were flat-out denied entry. When I tried to discuss it, they claimed it was to avoid disturbing other guests. However, there were only two other guests in the dining room, seated further inside. I suggested we could sit at the table closest to the entrance, in the corner – just a small spot for him to be. But they firmly refused, and I was absolutely furious.
If they had informed us of this rule either beforehand or during check-in, I would have understood and we could have taken turns eating breakfast. But we had all come down for breakfast without having eaten yet, and they expected us to just leave our dog outside?! I was utterly enraged. I really hope the guesthouse can clearly state that pets are not allowed in the dining area, or at least specify conditions (e.g., pets must be in a stroller or carrier) for entry. This would help other pet owners avoid such an unpleasant surprise.
Ultimately, it was a genuinely clean and spacious accommodation, but the staff's attitude left a very sour taste in my mouth.

We had some problems when we checked in, and the boss was very patient with us to deal with it, without any intention of blaming us... This point alone is worthy of me writing about it first...
B&B owner: I have to say that his attitude is very correct. When we have problems, he is really patient with us to deal with them. He makes me feel that if there are really problems, he should take us in! With this attitude, it will be my first choice for accommodation in Taichung District from now on (but our booking receipt is really clear and we paid for it!)
There are none of the problems that common B&Bs/hotels have here. The water flow is strong, the water in the bathroom does not pool on one side, the sound insulation is good (the door is very thick), the room is comfortable, there are many sockets near the bedside, and there is an elevator to bring the elderly. There is no problem. I think the owner of this house should have investigated the problems that usually occur in hotels when building this house! So there are no bad things like ordinary hotels here... It is really worthy of commendation, in the future... If Taichung is compared with Sanyi, I would rather go up a little bit and stay here!
Overall, the room is very simple, clean, and environmentally friendly... (the interior of the house is also very spacious)
The transportation is also very convenient, just a short walk away from the Sanyi Interchange!
You can also look forward to breakfast. After all, they are the family of the head chef of the Hakka restaurant ahead, so their craftsmanship is not bad!
🤪😄😄😄
Very satisfied so far 👍!
This is a temporary itinerary, it was already 7:30 pm on arrival and left early the next morning.
I didn't meet the landlord, I contacted the keys and listened to the instructions.
The location is in a community, on the slope, you can stop at the side of the alley by car, it is still good to stop
The community is quiet at night
The house is very large, the public area on the first floor is furnished with some paintings and artworks, there is no extra furniture, it is very simple
It's like changing your own villa into a homestay
So the room door is like the door of the home room. The door lock is sometimes not very stable. Try a few more times before going to bed to confirm that it is locked.
Basically the room and bathroom are clean
I chose room 202, the bathroom in the room is very large and there is 🛁, you can take a bath when the weather is cold
The water pressure is ok, the hot water comes very quickly
It’s just that the pillow will be recessed for a long time, and it won’t bounce back. You have to change the angle when you sleep.
Generally ok in terms of price
The location is more difficult to find, the stay was close to dusk, the bed and breakfast waiter was good, when we checked in, the waiter reminded us to go for dinner immediately, because the restaurant's opening hours were about to end, he immediately called the hall to inform the restaurant that there were guests Will go over to eat, so the restaurant waits for us to finish work after dinner 😄, the bed and breakfast provides breakfast in general 😏 Overall acceptable.
The owner was very kind and introduced the nearby attractions in detail. We saw the rare see-through of the Bayutan Reservoir. The layout of the room is not bad, especially rare, and the charging seat is also prepared, with wired wireless. The breakfast provided is very rich, self-service, both Chinese and Western. It is a homestay with a high cp value.
Almost all Taiwanese people have been to West Lake Resort when they were young, but they declined a little later, but they have recovered after renovation in the past few years. The overall feeling is still good. It is worth recommending.
Service attitude is super good 👍
Breakfast is very rich 😋😋
Diji Jing abalone porridge
Handmade radish cake
Dinner can be reserved in the evening
Because it is too late to book
I would like to visit a homestay again.
Passing through the downtown area of Sanyi and venturing up a countryside path, you’ll find a pure white building nestled amidst a vast forest of camphor trees, just a short distance from the bustling Shengxing Station.
This serene retreat invites travelers to reconnect with a lifestyle where the forest is home, allowing them to feel the soul and character inherent in nature. Through the stories depicted in each room's unique theme, guests can rediscover the beauty of living in harmony with their hearts—something often lost in the busyness of urban life.
