I stayed at the Viscay Hotel in Miami for a few days before boarding a transatlantic cruise, and it was a great choice! Located in an historic art deco district, the hotel is right in the heart of South Beach, surrounded by lively energy, unique architecture, and late-night dining options. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but that adds to its charm, considering it’s over a hundred years old. The staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked well, which is always a plus in older hotels. There’s front desk service throughout the day, but it closes overnight. They provide you with a key to a side entrance for after-hours access, which made me feel like I had my own 1920s apartment in this vibrant neighborhood. Staying at the Viscay was a treat, and I loved the convenience of having plenty of nearby restaurants, plus a 24-hour CVS right next door. I was really happy with my choice and would recommend it to anyone wanting a true South Beach experience.

Viscay hotel sits at the corner of Collins and 10th street and is one of the more utilitarian budding in the art deco district. It is (relatively) inexpensive and fairly basic because of that but is still clean and comfortable with friendly staff (thank you Luis for all of your helpful advice) and I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget who doesn’t mind being right in the thick of the hustle and bustle of South Beach. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and a good shower and bathroom and small kitchenette, ideal. Be aware there is no bar in the hotel and didn’t seem to offer a breakfast although this was mentioned on the blurb when we booked it. This was really no concern to us as we always breakfasted at a small family run bakers just around the corner, but just worth noting. With that in mind, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the area, it is extremely noisy until the small hours, especially at the weekend and if you are accommodated at the front of the hotel, offers little in the way of sound insulation. Being in our fifties, and first time visitors to Miami, this did catch us out and the first night was spent wondering if the whole of Collins Avenue was in our room with us. The farther up South you go the quieter it seems to get so we will probably aim for there next time. We found Miami fairly expensive so the only saved on the accommodation was a godsend, thank you The Viscay and I have no reservations about recommending this hotel.

The only advantage of this hotel is the location. It does not have an elevator to go up the bags, the cleanliness of the room is terrible. If you look under the furniture you can see that it was cleaned about 6 months ago. Horrible shower, dusty curtains, kitchen without utensils. It only had 3 glasses, 2 plates, a fork and a knife. You need to bring a sponge, detergent, paper towel, cutlery. There is no parking. At the reception there is a girl and a man, they were very helpful and polite. The hotel needs a renovation and ask the cleaning ladies to clean the rooms better

Small and very old hotel, without elevator or ramp, also old rooms, with a very small fridge and microwave, room service to be desired. As positive points, the receptionist Laura, always kind and friendly, and the proximity of Ocean Drive - one block from the most popular part. It's not worth what you charge.

We chose this hotel precisely because it is on Collins Av, behind Ocean Dr., as it is close to the action, but it would allow us to sleep. And it worked, the hotel is quiet and if you want excitement, just walk for 3 minutes or a block to be at the beach and bars. The hotel is simple, but has everything you need for a good stay, good bed, efficient air conditioning, hot shower, fresh towels daily, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The hotel supplies coffee grounds. Spacious room. Affectionate and good-humored service from the hotel staff, with even tips if you want. We will be back as it has an excellent cost/benefit ratio.

The hotel is very well located, close to the beaches and the commercial area and bars of Miami. It does not have 24 hour security and they give you a key to come and go. there is also no breakfast and it is an old hotel. It has good excursions.

Very warm welcome from Luis and his staff. Spacious, comfortable, clean room. Available microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. Ironing board and iron. Possibility of beach towel and beach chair. See with Luis. This is the second time I have come to this hotel, there are no bad surprises. Quiet place, close to lively places. Very good ice cream at Ma Mamia! On the road to the beach 100m.

The location of this hotel in Miami beach is the strong point. A few meters from Ocean Drive and Beaches, and from the heart of the nightlife. Good hotel and service too. Dated bathrooms to be redone but for being in Miami you can't complain good price / quality ratio

Excellent price/quality ratio. Although it is an old hotel, the room was in perfect condition, both clean and in good condition. Also, due to bad weather our cruise was delayed one day and they honored our reservation.
