FOUND Hotel, Miami Beach, Series by Marriott

Do not recommend. Very complicated, online check-in process. Asked to check in a few hours early just to put down our bags --- it was $20/hr fee for each hour early. Also same but more expensive for check-out. "Renovated" property, but not done well...however it still says "Alden Hotel" outside and nothing about Found by Miami Sonder.... poor service, rude staff. Also very FEW staff. The bathroom is so small that it's humorous.... we had their largest king room available by the way. Location: it's Miami beach so everything's expensive but this hotel literally faces a BUSY highway and instead of the beach. The beach is a 5 minute walk... just 2 streets over but you cannot see anything from this ancient, poorly renovated hotel. Bar Luca is a standout and much better than the hotel. Great bartenders.

We've stayed at FOUND Hotel Miami Beach 5x. We try to get out once a month. We will never be back after our last visit. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are well appointed, clean and inexpensive (typically.) We were out late and wanted to stay close. I saw the room rate at that time was $66. I called the front desk because it was very late/early morning the next day and asked if we could check in. I was presented with a bill that is the same price as their usual deposit so I thought nothing of swiping my card. Only when that money did not get refunded did I realize what they did. We paid over $200 for our room that night. In our 5 stays at FOUND we've never payed more than $120 and we check in at 4pm. That room would have sat empty for sure and instead of treating a very consistent guest well, they decided to take advantage.

Hotel is overall very nice, a few small updates could change this easily to 5 stars. First, lobby area could stand to be a bit brighter, it's cozy but very dark for a beach area hotel. Second, the room I had did have a great sized closet area, but no light in it. Room was also just big enough for a bistro table which would have been a nice addition. Bathroom is small, but overall clean and great. You cannot beat the location for the price, it is a one block walk to a very nice beach area that was never too crowded - dollar for dollar it is hard to beat this property. Interaction with staff was the letdown - several mornings we left to a dark lobby with a sleeping front desk employee, and at check-in (5pm in my case) they "weren't sure if the room was ready"... And proceeded to announce my room number out loud in front of the whole lobby and restaurant which is a big no-no in my opinion. Some training and attention to details could really get this property to 5 stars.

Very comfy bed, cute decor, great A/C. Our room was a little dirty, such as fingerprints and smudges on the walls and floor but decent overall. Great and accommodating staff members who were always available to help. Nice pool area to relax by and very close to the beach.

This property is in a great location and has everything you need for a great time in Miami Beach. There is a great bar and restaurant on the first floor and a beautiful pool with very comfortable lounge chairs to relax in. We only stayed one night but we will be back next time we visit South Beach. We had spent a few nights at the SLS and this property is so much more comfortable. We love Sonder and try to stay with them when we travel. We are so glad we found “Found.”
