Three words: spacious, clean and comfortable. We stayed at Les Saules for two nights and were very pleased with the accommodation. I think the hotel is actually a little underrated as a 3*. The hotel is located across the square from it's posher parent (Relais and Chateaux) but as a resident you have access to the spa and breakfast if you want them. You can also walk around the beautiful garden. Our first floor room was on a corner and had two balconies, one overlooking the river and the other towards the square. All air-conditioned and with a large shower room. We also had two meals in the Ancienne Auberge across the road, which were excellent. If I had one small complaint it would be with regards check-in and check-out. You have to go across to the other hotel for this and I have to say it was a very lukewarm welcome. Coldly efficient. Was glad I didn't have to walk past the reception desk each time we went in and out. For trips in the area, make a point of visiting the Royal Abbey at Brou (Bourg en Bresse). Not only is this an outstanding historical monument (with good audio guide), it also has an excellent art collection spanning several centuries. And for a less pricey coffee or drink in Vonnas, try the little cafe on the corner of the market place, 'Le Trotteur' - friendly, cheerful service.

An overnight stay in Vonnas as part of a RoadTrip gave the opportunity to use this perfectly acceptable alternative to the Georges Blanc - but under the same ownership. Spacious and very comfortable room with a first rate shower room and access to the spa . Dinner at the Auberge was worth a detour.

An incredible experience in a superb setting. Mr Georges Blanc is an icon of French hospitality and he thrives at offering the very best one can find in any super luxury property around the world with a superb local/regional touch. What is impressive is the consistency of all the touch-points from the front desk, to the rooms, to the food and beverage, to the spa experience. Simply the best. Genuine Luxury Hospitality at its best. Four days in Heaven!

The hotel is nice and in summertime its a good opportunity to escape the hot city and still not join the masses at the mediterrenean sea. The rooms are clean and comfortable and air conditioned. The value lies in the use of the attached spa and outdoor swimming pool. Its not overcrowded, although it was sold out. In combination with dining at the famous Georges Blanc restaurant and the brasserie its a great place to spend a weekend.

This was the last Hotel we stayed at on our 2017 tour and you have to finish on a high note and that we certainly did. The Hotel is situated in the village of Vonnas home to George’s Blanc (in my opinion the best chef in France) and his family have lived here for generations! We stayed in the part of the hotel across the car park from reception but the rooms where superb and we had the biggest bed we have ever slept in, the room was large and airy and had a balcony looking over to the rest of the hotel. The Spa was excellent and Sally and I spent the best part of an afternoon swimming, sitting in the sauna and just relaxing. The grounds are spectacular and one thing you will notice is the chefs leaving the kitchen to go to the herb garden and picking the herbs fresh for dinner that night. We will be back though maybe the next time flying to Lyon airport and this time staying in the main part of the hotel. I will write about the food here shortly, but if you really want to treat your partner take them here this is what a luxurious weekend should be all about. Some people may say it’s expensive but sod that if you want memories to last forever and bring a smile to your face every time you recall it, this is the place to go honestly.

We had one night in these rooms on our drive back from Spain. Rather bizarre to have to go across the square to check in at reception. Service at reception was excellent, with English speaking staff who explained that breakfast was 30 Euros per person if we wanted it (we didn't!) The air conditioned rooms were comfortable enough, with balconies overlooking the square. At the price we were disappointed that there was no complimentary water nor any tea/coffee making equipment. We've come to expect both from lesser establishments than this!

Georges Blanc is a wonderful experience. Faultless and effortless service bely the deeply professional attitude to detail on everything. The hotel is great and the restaurant gastronomique quite superb. Yes, its a high price point but thoroughly worth every cent.
