We've stayed in well over 100 traditional B & B's over the years. This one turned out to be a good choice. It's a beautiful four-room Victorian dating from 1900, and only a couple of blocks from the GAP bike trail, In fact, the majority of guests who stay here are bike riders doing the trail, and they have secure bike storage here. There are several B & B's in Meyersdale (probably only because the GAP trail goes through it). We got the last available room---Angela's room, which just has a queen bed. Although perhaps the smallest room here, it was still pretty large and had a high queen bed, nice antique furnishings, a fireplace, and a decent-sized bathroom. The TV was very small, but had cable channels. Overall, the bed and the room were comfortable for us. The innkeeper (Deborah) was friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendation (the White House is good). Breakfast was fine---creative fare that you would expect from a quality B & B. The house has a nice front porch, good for socializing with other guests. And the common rooms are beautiful. A few cautions---not issues for us, but that should be known especially for older travelers. All rooms are on the second floor, and stairs are pretty steep. The queen bed in our room was high. There is a stool to help, but could be an issue for older guests. The bathtub is somewhat high, and has a half-size glass partition (European style). Once again, could be an issue for older guests to get in and out of. Finally, an active railroad track is just a block or two from the house, and there will be trains going through fairly often, and it's loud. Since most of the guests here are active bike riders, these issues aren't that significant but could be relevant for other guests. Overall, a nice stay here.
