Novotel Mexico City Centro Historico
Novotel Mexico City Centro HistoricoNovotel Mexico City Centro Historico
17.47km from Scorpion Club
Novotel Mexico City Centro Historico has the best location in Historic Mexico City, ensuring all the comfort for a quiet stay in Mexico City. The hotel has rooms ideal for business travelers and families, as well as being pet friendly. Enjoy a Mexican restaurant and a bar with signature cocktails. The hotel's structure includes a gym, meeting rooms for corporate events and a terrace over the Zócalo.

GGuest User 2024.03.02
The Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico is a new hotel. Its newness shows in any number of ways, both good and bad. First the good: Staff were all friendly. And my room was shiny new and free of signs of wear. Everything in the room worked perfectly. It is true that the room was rather small and that the view was mostly of a blank wall. Since I was by myself and did not spend much time in the room during the day, these latter issues didn’t bother me very much. There were, however, some issues that were also perhaps related to the hotel’s newness. The cleaning staff didn’t empty the wastebasket on the first day and didn’t replenish the Nespresso pods on the second. Perhaps they should start working from a checklist … ? Also, breakfast was only available half an hour later than advertised. And, oddly, only certain guests were offered omelettes. And, as someone who doesn’t eat meat, I was bothered by a cheese-and-luncheon-meat plate on which the cheese and luncheon meat were piled on top of each other. I would also have appreciated labels on the four stew-like dishes on offer—I couldn’t tell what they contained. There is also the issue of billing. When I checked in at 3 p.m., I was asked to pay the entire bill—no problem there. But, when I arrived in my room, I found an e-mail from hotel management informing me that, because the hotel was extra busy, I’d already been charged for day 1. It’s true that I’d opted for a “flexible” rate which required me to agree to pay for the first day whether I showed up or not, but it was a little startling to be charged for a no-show before the earliest possible check-in time—and then charged again when I checked in. It took a week for the double charge to disappear from my credit-card statement. I can’t believe Accor would have approved of this billing procedure. The thing that most bothered me about the hotel was the absence of a minibar. The TripAdvisor website—and also the websites of several booking agencies—all claim that rooms in the Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico have minibars. The Accor website, I’ll admit, doesn’t. But I guess I’ve come to expect that hotels of a certain class would have minibars. And I missed having one, not for overpriced drinks, but for the groceries I bought. I wasn’t, in other words, very enthusiastic about the Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico, although I acknowledge that, with a few changes, it could most definitely be turned into a very good hotel.

We started our road trip with this hotel for 3 nights and we are not disappointed. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The only bemol is that for those who like me are of hot chocolate, they don't use it ^^ and they don't have any confectionery, but butter is to be asked. The rooms were very clean, well equipped (TV, dish, toilet, shower, toilet...) Negative points that we noted: It remains quite far from the center and we had to move to Uber for some places, This is not a hotel to choose if you want to walk

GGuest UserWent here on a work trip and this place delivered. A very nice, clean, beautiful building in the middle of a great part of CDMX. My Spanish is less than average but most of, if not all, the staff speak VERY good English, including room service. I stayed in a suite which was very roomy, clean, the bathroom was very nice with all marble floors. The bed was very comfortable as well. I ordered room service for dinner one night and was blown away by how delicious everything was! I had a filet mignon, caprese salad and a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream. Filet was SPOT ON, salad was good (the mozzerella was definitely fresh, and if they didn't bake the brownie in house they had me fooled. I was literally saying out loud to nobody else in the room ”this is delicious!”. I'll have to say the athletic facility was pretty impressive as well. They have a ton of machines and equipment that are inside a glass enclosed atrium and very well put together. I was nursing some injuries at the time of my visit so only used the facility for light rehab work. I didn't get to use all of the equipment but was definitely impressed. Very clean and came in contact with staff only one day and they were very friendly as well. The only thing I would have liked in the room, and I realize this may be completely an American thing, is a bed side clock. I just like to wake up and see the time and/or use the alarm when I need it, I don't like waking up to ”wake up calls”. The phone ringing is not a fun way for me to awake.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very nice location, a couple of blocks from Avenida Paseo de la Reforma. The room was very clean and there was a walk-in shower in the bathroom. A nice ce upgrade would be to have USB ports by the nightstand. My issue is with Trip.com. I paid in advance for 3 rooms- one for me and one each for two friends. When I booked the rooms, I listed each of us separately on the online form. I received my confirmation by email and assumed that so did my friends. When we arrived at the hotel, I checked in without issue but when my friends tried to, they were told that no reservation existed for them. This is despite the fact that I had paid by credit card for all three rooms on one transaction. A call to Trips.com did nothing to fix the situation. The reservation number I gave them only had my room listed. My only option now is to dispute the charge once my credit card statement arrives.

GGuest UserLovely room, delightful hotel and gracious staff. However, the booking process was difficult, and the communication with the front desk confusing. We got three versions of confirmed dates (the last one correct) did not get clarification as to whether our room included breakfast. When we arrived, we were given different responses to our question about whether breakfast was included on three occasions. We are fine with paying extra, but would have liked to have know whether to eat in or elsewhere. The restaurant was a weak spot with slow service, and no red wines available by the glass on our second visit. The waitperson said it was due to Xmas, but it seems quite surprising for this level of hotel to run out of red wine options four days after the holiday. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel, the location and the rooftop brunch on our last day were great. Please work on your service and communication to guests

SSARA GABRIELAModern accommodation in a great area for exploring Mexico city for a day or two. It's not a hotel so obviously the service is totally different than you'd expect For cleanliness and?overall amenities..But it's totally ok for a good night sleep and a convenient, safe, and nice location to stay. Wish they could PayPal bit attention to details, for example in trio.com?app it says the room had a?balcony and when we arrived we didn't even have windows. Exhausted from a long trip we didn't want to cause trouble but that could have been advised earlier. We were two people but only had one hand towel so that was an inconvenience that could have probably been avoided of the management would pay a birthday more attention to the bookings. Overall ok stay for an one night stop-over in Mexico city. Walking distance to restaurants and nice Polanco area day off night.

GGuest UserWhile this hotel was aesthetically pleasing and in a good location for relatively easy access to many tourist spots, the amenities, service, and operation was absolutely horrible! The language barrier was also very challenging and one would think for this to be such a hot spot that they would have staff fluent in English for tourists. I was told that the hotel had english-speaking concierge that would be able to guide me with questions on transportation, etc. and that was not the case. Day 1: - Language barrier made check-in unnecessarily challenging - Language barrier made the ability to assist us with our desired tours impossible, thankfully we had a backup plan and had gathered information for ourselves - Bikes as advertised were not available AT ALL, at no time during our stay and per guests that had arrived a week prior the bikes had not been available (out for repairs & unavailable the entire stay)...this was the method of transportation we had planned on using AND had supposedly reserved for the afternoon of our arrival, thus causing us to have to change plans - My 1st evening in the room the air conditioning was not working and my room was SCORCHING! I was calling every 1 - 1.5 hrs asking for assistance, and even though they are able to control it remotely they could not get it working....I was only able to rest approx. 3 hrs and woke up congested and with a migraine. The young woman at the front desk did everything that she could to communicate the issue and actually did apologize that I was ill, however was not successful in her attempts to reach 'The Manager' as she said that 'the manager' would not return calls made in attempt to speak with me - this ultimately made me late for our tour/lunch reservation due to attempts to handle the situation. Upon return for the afternoon I was told that the A/C was fixed. Upon arriving in the room I found it to be freezing cold and attempted to turn the unit off, the front desk staff KEPT turning it back on, even after attempts to help them understand that the temperature was still not being controlled within the room, thus I was probably able to get 4-5 hrs of sleep and my cold/congestion got worse.....and they said there was no room available to move me to All that said, I have my complaint into the booking agency and hotel corp office, but am writing this review to warn anyone contemplating their stay at City Centro Ciudad de Mexico

GGuest UserWe were three nights in this hotel while we visited Mexico City. We booked on booking that marked it as a 5-star hotel, the same marks were 4 on the site. The room was dirty, full of mosquitoes. The stools were probably not washed since 1600. We asked for a hair phone at the reception (the rooms are not provided), they told us they were using it at the time and to return to ask it soon. We returned 3 times to the reception but this phone was not traceable. So we asked them to call us when available ...beh never arrived!! For all the stay we couldn't add our hair. One hairdryer for pou of 200 rooms is not enough, and we tried to make colazkones in the hotel one morning and the stoves used were dirty, especially the coffee cups. The only positive note was the kindness of the kitchen staff and the people who were responsible for hygiene services. Of course not the people in the reception. If you think you're going to Mexico City, avoid this hotel.
