Overall, a good hotel but there were some things that could’ve made it a little better. The good - the location is EVERYTHING. I absolutely loved Roma Norte and La Condesa. And the location of this hotel is on the border of both areas. I loved the range of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. It was also easy to walk to attractions such as Parque España, Chapultepec Castle, La Reforma, La Ángel de la independencia etc. Honestly, it’s the location that gets top marks for me! The hotel itself is clean and nicely decorated. My room on the top floor (room 501) wasn’t huge but it was nice enough, and the view from my private terrace was stunning. The not so good - while nice and friendly, many of the staff don’t speak English so it was a little difficult to communicate. I know basic Spanish and also spent a bit of time using Google translate to communicate with them but for a hotel, attracting international visitors in a capital city, I would’ve expected a little bit more. I didn’t enjoy the WhatsApp communication, it was often a bit of a struggle when I needed help - ie the TV didn’t work properly or when there wasn’t any hot water and I didn’t understand how the shower worked. That was another thing, there should’ve been instructions in the room. Most hotels have a booklet or guide or signs on the walls with how to use things. Oh and I couldn’t understand why there was a fan in the room and no air conditioning. I would’ve thought air conditioning would be standard in a hot country like Mexico! Overall though, while not perfect, it was still an enjoyable experience. I had a great time in Mexico City and I believe the location of this hotel played a huge part in that.
