We have just had a four night stay at The Ship Inn, Mevagissey. The staff are all friendly and efficient. The Head Chef, Stuart, has a great kitchen team as the food was hot and on hot plates. Great portion size and good value for money. The evening music was great too! One thing they can't do anything about are the seagulls and early morning rubbish collections.

Enjoyed a two night stay at the Ship Inn. It's an old pub with a few rooms. I was worried at first as my room was on the third floor in the middle of a heat wave, but both nights I came back after sunset after full days of exploration and the room had cooled down and I slept really well. I found the room comfortable. I'm a fan of older quirky inns, so I should disclose that as not everyone would love the space. The food in the pub was decent and overall the pub had a good vibe and seemed to have a mix of tourists and locals. Great location in Mevagissey to visit the town and surrounding area.

Just had an amazing meal. We both chose the fish pie, it was excellent. Huge chunks of fish, plenty of prawns and a very tasty sauce. The Cornish Best bitter was dangerously drinkable too. Staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. What's not to like?

The gentleman who served breakfast, also carried luggage and called the taxi! He stayed outside the building until the taxi actually arrived! Very nice man!

Called in for a drink and something to eat. First thing we noticed was the smell of dogs, it was quite overwhelming. The floor seemed sticky and we cleaned our own table with wet wipes I had in my bag. We found a table at the back of the pub where the smell wasn't too overpowering. Ordered food and drinks. Bar staff were not particularly friendly. At this point we should have left but we were tired and hungry travellers. Food arrived and was mediocre at best. We used the loo before we went & they were a bit grotty. It's sad that such a lovely looking pub is so horrible inside . We left and found the Harbour Tavern , what a contrast! When we walked home we passed the Ship to find the staff smoking outside, moaning about the customers. They could have been more discreet about it! We wouldn't recommend or will going back.

Food was pretty good but room wasn’t. The staff do the best they can. Parking was a fair ways away. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Arrived at The Ship, had to fight our way in through the crowded pub. Free public parking advertised, but there is none had to pay for parking about 5 minutes walk away. It was very noisy, especially in the early morning, dustmen, bottle collecting and deliveries. Returned to pub first evening after a walk with a sign in the doorway saying “full, come back later” so went elsewhere to eat.
