Metz Hotels with Parking

Friendly staff, a very basic room, good price for spending a night.

The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. The light of the bathroom did not work, as well as the light on the left side of the bed. The shower box was broken. The worst point remains the reception! We arrived at 11:30, and the host told us to return at 15:00, but it was written that the recordings are possible at 12:00 on the door of the hotel. We return at 12:45 (to ask if it is at least possible for us to fill our bottles of water), the hostess see us and make the host cabinet with a loud smile before even listening to us. We were going back to the recording box, and it was again active. We try to return our name, booking number, and nothing does: the box is constantly returning to the home page. We leave. Another group and insists in front of the closed door of the host office because their reservation is effective as early as 13:00 (time it was widely), but the hostess does not want to do anything. It is clear that she was all concerned about us because she had given us a different time! We ended up going, the other group continued the debate with the hostess. We finally returned at 21:30, faced with a closed reception and a box of records not shut up to work!

When I arrived it was pouring with rain, so I missed the hotel first time around, so according to my Garming I had to drive another 1,5 KM to get round to the hotel. Pleasant reception explained how to get to the parking garage with my motorbike. Room was ok, breakfast was a fast breakfast. Not to write home about. One thing did bother me , at the reception they gave me a streetmap of Metz, but the scale was so small I couldn't use it too well, ofcourse I went the long way round to the cathedral.

We went to Metz for 2 days and decided for the Mgallery Hotel. It was very well located next to a park in a historic environment. Definitely a very nice place. City center with a many restaurants, cafes and bars was just a 10 minute walk. Also the cathedral was just 15 minutes away. Staff was very friendly and rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was very good with good choices.

We were stranded at the Metz Ville railway station today with our booked accommodation failing to email our accommodation address. By accident I stumbled across the Campanile Hotel, 3 minutes from the station. From the moment I walked in the staff were so helpful, kind and empathetic to our situation. They served us tea, allowed access to their Wifi and sitting area so we could try and resolve our situation. We couldn’t so booked a room- clean, comfortable beds, a lovely fresh room and bathroom; more than adequate for our needs. And a very reasonable price. But the staff were superb! Nothing was too much trouble- they tried to source tours and answered a multitude of questions. Special mention must be made of Fativa- an absolute gem! So kind, so caring and so patient. Her dinner recommendation was fabulous! Campanile Hotel saved our day!

Place advertised limited parking but there was none. No handicapped parking either. Nearest parking was a block away and 12 Euros for 3 hrs but free from 1900 to 0900. Reception team unaware of parking rates and restrictions. Small room was adequate, kitchenette but needed air conditioning. Our 6th floor room faced west and it was hot. Fan provided helped. All instructions were provided in German along with a pocket size map in French. Excellent location near most sights in easy walking and bike range. Breakfast at 8.50€ was very European. Quiet area in NW area of city center near everything. No lobby or restaurant in our facility. Restaurants required reservations but plenty of outdoor seating was available in the many pedestrian zones. Beer averaged 6.50€ for 1/2 liter and wine for a small glass started at 3.50€. Grocery stores and gas stations are well hidden. Overall parking expense was a major drawback. Find a hotel that has parking.

Overall it's ok, breakfast needs to be improved a bit

Absolutely stunning hotel modern French design. Location even better. Superb stay with access to pretty much everything you want and desire. Our room was fabulous very good character and the pool very nice. Safe parking for our Motor Car with excellent members of staff to help you throughout. In the morning the breakfast service is again delicious and well supplied. The hotel is very ambient and offers selection and seclusion whilst dining. I really like this. Staff exceptional, very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommended especially for stop overs whilst travelling across a brilliant country.

The residence was easy to find and wasn’t far from the city centre, but was situated a stone’s throw from an extremely busy railway line and sidings. Checking-in was straightforward and the guy on Reception made a real effort to communicate in English. We paid for the room and for private underground parking @ 9 euros a night and we were pleasantly surprised to find how easy the access was to the car park. A word of caution though – we were in a long wheelbase Mercedes and we grounded on the ramp – could have been nasty if we had got more weight in the car. The car park had direct access to Reception and there were lifts to all floors. So far so good . On entry to the room we noticed immediately that there was a strong smell of damp and that it in no way resembled the photos on ***********. We passed through a miniscule kitchenette with a pedal bin backed by stained wallpaper, and into a bedroom so full of cobwebs that it was like a 1950’s horror film set. Spider webs in the corners, above the bed and at ceiling level everywhere. The main light shade was full of dead insects and one of the chairs was badly stained. Tops of the door frames were grimy and obviously hadn’t been cleaned this century. The main window had no security opening option so was impossible to have open without risking getting our throats cut whilst we slept. Being seasoned world travellers and familiar with second-class foreign accommodation we opted to make the most of it and chalk it down to experience, but our patience reached the limit when my wife had a quick shower and I followed to find that the water was stone-cold. Upon complaining to Reception we were told that ‘the rooms have individual water reservoirs’ and we ‘would have to wait two hours for the water to warm up.’ Unacceptable in 2022, as was the Receptionist’s suggestion that we could change rooms for an additional 100 euros. Faced with having to try to find alternative accommodation in Metz city centre at short notice during the Christmas Market period, we had little choice but to make the most of it. *********** were completely useless – said that they would speak to the hotel management but then came back to us saying that there was nothing that they could do. Small downside for the gentleman at the reception who was very friendly, but who asked me for an identity document. So I gave him my driving license issued by the state and therefore serves as an identity document accepted in France from the moment the photo on the document resembles the person. Fortunately my wife had hers, otherwise he would not have accepted us. After research his explanations were completely false. Otherwise the rest is good
