Small downside for the gentleman at the reception who was very friendly, but who asked me for an identity document. So I gave him my driving license issued by the state and therefore serves as an identity document accepted in France from the moment the photo on the document resembles the person.
Fortunately my wife had hers, otherwise he would not have accepted us.
After research his explanations were completely false.

The hotel didn't have a car park as it was advertised in ***********. The triple room didn't have the 3rd bed, and it was small. dirty with very old furniture. The bathroom was not clean, and the expensive breakfast was very basic.

Being a Gold Member, I requested a late check-out and it was backfired as if I requested something very extra ordinary! They didn't accept it. For the welcome drink voucher, you can only use it for fruit juice or water (not even for Coca Cola or beer, I asked and they refused to give me Coke or beer with that voucher). I was told that it was the decision of the Hotel Manager. So, the manager at Ibis Metz can change the rules of Accor as to his/her preference. I also wrote an e-mail about my complaint to Accor Headquarters.

Hotel est situé en face de la gare (Metz-ville). Pas loin de transport public, magasin, restaurant, musée, etc. … Personnel attentif et aimable. Grande chambre moderne et propre. Parking extérieur avec tarif négocié. Très bon rapport qualité prix.

Het hotel is in een mooi oud pand gevestigd, maar heeft zijn beste tijd wel gehad. Alles ziyer een beetje versleten uit, maar het is wel schoon! We hebben van een medewerker begrepen, dat het hotel in 2026voor een periode van twee jaar dicht gaat voor een volledige renovatie, waarbij de naastliggende panden en de panden om de hoek meegenomen worden, om er één Ibis-hotel van te maken. Voor het personeel niets dan lof; zeer vriendelijk en hulpvaardig!

Je suis déjà descendu dans cet hôtel et j'en gardais un meilleur souvenir. C'est la chambre qui pose problème (316). Tout d'abord une odeur désagréable comme si la chambre avait été nettoyée avec une serpillère pas propre. Dans la salle de bain, des saletés qui restent par terre. Des bas de murs qui sont en partie bien finis, mais en partie tellement mal finis qu'on ne voit pas comment nettoyer le tout correctement. Le drap du dessous du lit était propre, mais trop petit et donc ne tenait pas bien. A l'inverse, une mention 5* pour le réceptionniste de l'après midi / soir qui a été très aimable, disponible et serviable. Bravo !

L'hôtel est bien situé, à deux pas de la gare et à quelques minutes à pied du centre. Le personnel est agréable. Mais l'hôtel est dans son jus des années 80 (ah, les moquettes à fleurs dans les couloirs !), et il a un besoin urgent de rénovation. Les chambres sont très exiguës, la douche est avec un rideau d'un autre âge, l'ascenseur est sous-dimensionnné pour desservir toutes les chambres (heureusement que nous n'étions pas au 4eme étage car nous avons pris l'escalier pendant tout notre séjour). Hôtel globalement pas au niveau du label Ibis.
