Grand Forest Metsovo

We had beautiful 8 days of escapism in the grand forest hotel. The hotel is designed magnificently from the entrance lobby via the dining room and spa all the way to the room. The forest view is great and it is visible at all rooms. the welcome was very warm, friendly and polite. We were lucky to be upgraded in the room and we've got complementary spa services. The dining was superb. Breakfast was very rich and tasteful. The dinner was a true gourmet quality with very special plates - I would like to specially mention the fish plates. Fabulous hotel, great area. Staff were super and Petros very helpful, kind and fun! 🤩 Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant staff so helpful! A shout out to Ioanna, who was so charming, knowledgeable, helpful and fun. And Popi who was also delightful. All were very cheery and proud of the hotel and region. We are once at lunchtime and also in the evening the food was excellent! Spa was lovely and massages with Evi great! Thank you, Grand Forest, we will be back! Yassas 🇬🇷😊

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The facilities they offered were excellent. The room was beautiful overlooking the mountains. The breakfast and dinners were very good. We made full use of the spa facilities after a full day out in the area and it was excellent. We will definitely revisit the place. Highly recommend this hotel.

An amazing hotel on the slopes of The Pindus Mountains in the Epirus region of Northern Greece. A magical place overlooking the village of Metsovo. The accommodation is 5star luxury in an ecological untouched environment. The staff are outstanding all with outing hospitality, Maria at Reception was so very helpful organising bike hire; winery visits and restaurant reservations with great passion and insight. The restaurant Metsovo 1350m is a master class in culinary delight with Chef Gikas Xenakis adding flair to all the locally sourced ingredients. A location to explore the beauty and natural unspoiled environment in great comfort. A great experience!!

A wonderful hotel set in idyllic surroundings, encircled by forests giving awe-inspiring views across the mountains and valleys. This was the first time my wife and I travelled to the north of Greece and we are already planning a return trip, we loved it that much. We flew into Thessaloniki airport and drove the 2 and half hours drive to the hotel (it cost about €6 in tolls - very cheap). It's an easy drive with beautiful views mainly on a dual carriageway. You climb up a winding road to arrive at the hotel, greeted with mountain views and by a friendly team member, who welcomed us into the lobby. The aromas of a wood fire, large windows to absorb the views and a relaxed atmosphere, your shoulders immediately drop, knowing you have arrived in sanctuary. We spent three days pampering ourselves in the spa, eating great food in the restaurant and playing board games in the evening (Well UNO). I didn't want to leave! The rooms offered subtle opulence with even the little details taken care of. For a three-course meal, with a bottle of wine for 2 people, it was about €80, a very inexpensive price for the quality and service you receive. The Lamb was delicious. Spa treatments started from about €45 and went to about €130. My wife and I both had a couple of treatments during our stay and I am glad we did. It was food for the soul. We went during the off-season and it felt like we had the hotel to ourselves. The indoor pool was available from 6pm to all guests and you could book a slot in the day to enjoy it privately. Few things worth noting. It is more casual than you'd expect, so relax, enjoy the Greek hospitality and do not hesitate to wear your bathrobe around the hotel. Secondly, it's worth hiring a car to visit the local village and drive further afield, the roads are very easy and not particularly busy. Finally, we did the truffle hunting excursion. It was a wonderful day out walking with the ladies and their 3 dogs. They found so many truffles! The walk takes you through wonderful forests, down to the river bed and then is finished off by a beautiful meal back at their micro-farm. To finish this review, I would probably say it was the best hotel I've stayed at. I look forward to returning!

All time classic hotel. I recommend it especially for winter season. Very very delicious and varied breakfast. View and the pool are a must. If you take the opportunity to visit it stay in all day in order to close an appointment for the indoor pool.
