Beautiful accommodation shared with two wonderful friends. Every detail was thought through to make our stay most enjoyable. The room was immaculately and stylishly decorated. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of options. The staff very accommodating to our needs. Would definitely stay again.

On the positive side, the staff were very friendly; Donatello communicated well and frequently, mostly via WhatsApp rather than in person. The breakfast was pleasant. Our expectations were very high given all the good reviews, and the price (€874 for three nights, inclusive of all taxes) also led us to assume this would be a luxury experience. Although we enjoyed our stay overall, we felt disappointed in some aspects. We were there during an extreme heat wave, and when we arrived in the heat we were looking forward to freshening up, but there were only two tiny bottles of body/hair wash for our family of four. The body wash itself was not high quality so we had to use a lot to soap up and get clean. There was not enough for all of us, and there was no one around (we were checked in remotely) to give us more. The next day, at breakfast, we asked for more and we given six more small bottles for the four of us to share. The proprietors could perhaps consider providing larger bottles so this is not an issue, and maybe upgrading to a nicer quality soap. The shower water itself varied in temperature frequently, and the shower head didn't provide a steady flow, as many of the nozzles seemed clogged. Although it was a spacious walk-in shower, which was nice, the shower water leaked all over the bathroom floor, every time. There was one air conditioning unit at one end of the very large room (Margherita suite), and during a very hot period (34C daily high) with extreme heat warnings, it wasn't strong enough to really cool the room quickly. A few fans would have been welcomed additionally. One of us was vegan, and once they were aware of this, they made sure they had soy milk available for morning cappuccinos, which was very much appreciated. We would agree with those who noted that the neighbourhood surrounding the B&B is not scenic or charming in any way, very much a working class neighbourhood of many apartments. It is a 20- to 25-minute walk to the old town and about a 10- to 15-minute walk to the railway station. In the heat, a bit sweaty and tiresome, but you can order a taxi using the itTaxi app. We really did appreciate the commitment of Donatello and his team. There was much to like, but probably especially because of the price (which admiteddly may have been fair relative to other prices in the market, and time of year), and the small disappointments, we felt a bit underwhelmed. I hope this is taken in the spirit with which it is intended.

10/10 experience, excellent service and very nice and clean rooms. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. We just stayed one night but wish we found out about this place sooner.

I cancelled one night from two within the cancellation window and was charged the full €209 for one night. I was told I was “upgraded”. We spoke to other guests who had a similar experience. I am sympathetic to small business owners, but if we follow the policies, they should too. The room was nice enough but no windows. Location is on the wrong side of the tracks from the historical district, so lots of walking. Breakfast was good.
