Panorama Palace Hotel

I will be happy to change my review to 4 stars when the hotel decides to turn their air conditioning on for the month of May. The rooms were VERY warm, and the front desk was not able to provide us with a fan of any kind to accommodate this. The beds were also stiff, and the pillows thin. Lovely location, and a nice enough lobby though.

Beautiful, our room had an ocean view. It was fantastic. The room was large and clean. The woman at the front desk was wonderful with any questions we had, she even talked us into taking a metro bus instead of a taxi. It saved us quite and bit of money and made the trip a better experience. Dinner and breakfasts were very pleasant. Would book again at this hotel.

The good things about this hotel are its location overlooking the sea and the lovely, quiet, little beaches below it with safe swimming. Our rooms were large and airy and overlooking the sea which we were entranced by. BUT there was no air conditioning and not even a ceiling fan so I hate to think what it must be like at the height of summer. The TV in one room blew the electrics when it was switched on, the shower attachment holder in the other room was broken so the shower head swung around at knee level while you washed your hair and swimming pool was frigid. HOWEVER, the noise was unbelievable - this is not the hotel's fault. It's situated opposite a small square which attracts local youths in the early hours of the morning and then the street cleaning regime takes place between 2am and 4am. It's not helped that the noise echoes around making it seem louder than it would be at street level. ALSO the location in Meta means you have to get a bus everywhere. It's not within walking distance of Sorrento and even the train station is a decent walk uphill. There were a number of tour groups, including school children, staying when we were there; they tend to eat at the hotel but if you want to join them it's 15 euros for a starter and 20 for a main course making it a very expensive dining option. This type of mass catering must impact on the nearby local restaurants, especially in October when the two we visited were devoid of diners. It was a pleasant enough experience but I probably wouldn't stay there again. Word of warning...the local tax is 56 euros in cash; we were told it would be 42 so it was a nasty surprise at the end of our holiday and at 4am when we were rushing to get to the airport that we had to scrabble around and find an extra 14 euros.

Stunning location and a very enjoyable stay, hotel and room were spotlessly clean. Staff were lovely especially Giuseppe who went above and beyond to ensure our stay and breakfast was enjoyable! Hotel was basic although everything else makes up for it so would definitely recommend it!

I spent a week at the Panorama Palace hotel in meta The room was cleaned every day by a friendly staff I’ve been eating at the hotel Restaurant every day I got an excellent service especially by Jusepe who his extraordinary and provides an excellent service he made my week here easy en enjoyable The view on the water, from my hotel room the pool at the hotel that you can enjoy every day at anytime of the day the roof terrace view on the way the bar outside that belongs to the Panorama hotel where you get served by Antonio who’s very friendly In front of the hotel there’s bench where you can relax before going to the beach down the road I recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy an easy stay Thanks a million to Jusepe Luigi, Mario , Antonio, John Carlo Manon B

I visited Panorama Hotel from 5th till 11th July, travelling with my family ( husband and child of 5 years). I will comment on the positive and negative features of the hotel, facilities and service. First, the positive: great location with stunning view to the bay and the beach, good service by the staff, especially Luigi during our breakfast and dinner service. He made sure my daughter feels welcome by bringing her chocolate every day. Negatives: no balcony which is awful during beach holiday, no working air- conditioning which is a No-go at 35C July days and also the food was quite frankly blant and not tasty. Overall, the hotel is 3* max, no way of 4*.

HORRIBLE - we couldn't wait to leave. Absolutely no idea how this could be called a 4 star hotel. The only good part was the view. The breakfast was probably the worst we have every experienced (although there was one man that worked there who was pleasant). The coffee is not drinkable and the rest of the breakfast was basic. Their is a bar across the road that does not sell any type of food so if you arrive be prepared that you need to go searching for somewhere to eat. There are no pool towels and we were told just to use our bath towels and they would replace. When we asked for more towels we had to wait several hours and then needed to go an ask again. The whole place reminds us of faulty towers. We have stayed at many hotels around Italy and this has to be the worst. We agree with another review - not much better than a hostel. Our travel agent booked this hotel for us. Treat yourself and stay somewhere nice.
