Triumph White Sands

Excellent value for money. Right on the beach, and very friendly. I would only fault the restaurant: it could be better in terms of food quality and atmosphere. For everything else, highly recommended.

Stayed in Matrouh for two nights. Both nights were in this hotel. The Spring Festival is considered their off-season. It seems that there are not many guests. The room is moderate. There is a side balcony. You can see the sunrise beach. The breakfast is very rich. I can't finish it at all. Of course, it may not be very suitable for Chinese stomachs. But it is also a good experience. I want to praise the guy in the restaurant. After dinner, I returned to the room and found that my phone was missing. I turned back to the table in the restaurant but couldn't find it. I thought it might be lost. But the guy in the restaurant asked me if I was looking for something. He took the phone from the counter and gave it to me. I am really grateful.

I rarely review this hotel, but the way this hotel handled it was outrageous. I booked a room with three queen beds, but upon arrival they said they could only accommodate two people. "How can two people sleep in three beds?" What the hell? They asked us to pay a $181 per person fee! You're just robbing me! We even tried to contact Ctrip, but to no avail. They refused to refund our money even after check-out! They even told us we had to pay in US dollars if we weren't from Egypt, not Egyptian pounds! My friend was so angry she almost called the police. After over an hour of discussion, Ctrip finally compromised and agreed to pay the per-person fee! After we paid, they asked for parking! I was completely pissed! This was the first time we'd been asked for parking on our trip, and I was ripped off for another 200 RMB! Finally, we got to the room, and all I had was one queen bed and two small beds! The six of us were furious! Even worse, after paying the per-person fee, we were only given four bottles of water for the six of us—not even one more! I've never seen such a lousy hotel! Avoid this hotel if you're visiting Marsa Matruh! A rip-off, rubbish hotel!

The hotel is quite clean overall, just like Vienna in China. The hotel service is not very enthusiastic, and no one helps to send luggage to the hotel. The hotel has its own beach, and there are not many people because it is off-season. The two nights we stayed happened to be during the New Year, and the hotel also played some New Year songs. The breakfast is a fixed set meal with a lot of food, which can be eaten as brunch. The restaurants outside are basically open very late. Finally, the service of the lady in the restaurant is very good, thumbs up 👍.
