We stayed in the bridal suite and were very pleased. When we first arrived, a staff member showed us to our room, she was very nice. The bridal suite consists of three large rooms connected by French doors, two wall-mounted smart TVs, with Netflix, etc. a microwave, a bar fridge, a coffee machine with complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, cream etc. A beautiful large hot tub with a seat in it. A wonderful shower which fits two with a seat in it and two shower heads. Decorated in an elegant historical style. Lovely gas fireplace. Comfortable bed, nice linens, etc. Ordered the charcuterie board from the restaurant and it had a wonderful variety of crackers, quality cheeses, three different kinds of cold meats, pickled veggies, wonderfully fresh baked bread, chutneys, sauces and delicious fresh greens. It was very quiet all night, but, being on a Sunday night in October, there may not have been a lot of other guests. We were very happy with our stay. Prior to check in, we visited the bookstore around the corner (it was also wonderful) as well as the candy store.

A lovely heritage inn in a beautiful little Ontario town. We received a gift certificate for Christmas to a night at the Baldachin and it was a lovely mini-vacation. Our room was on the second floor and the one flight up was hard on my legs (arthritis) but it was a charming room with one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in. Everything was spotless. Only negative was the noise from the busy intersection below our room but that isn’t the inn’s fault.

Beautiful historical place. Many stairs to access room and no amenities to accommodate people with mobility issues. Although rooms are very small it was clean. Our room didn’t have all amenities indicated. Lack of signage for exits and room location.

While heading to the Ontario 'Highlands' for some motorcycle riding, my buddy and I stopped in here to have a cold drink and escape the rain for a bit. I had been here before - while shopping in Merrickville with my wife, we had a nice lunch here a few years ago. I didn't enjoy this visit as much as my previous one. I don't think the owner really wanted a couple of weather worn bikers at their bar and while they weren't really rude, they weren't very welcoming either. They spoke to the other patrons at the bar (there were about 3 others, two of whom were not from the area and one who was probably a local), but not to us. At one point the woman behind the bar tugged on my sleeve to indicate I should take my jacket off the chair next to me for the 'local' guy to sit down (there were at least a dozen other empty seats at the bar). They seemed happy when we paid up and left. I would recommend this place to stop in for lunch if you are shopping in Merrickville, but if you are motorcycling through, skip it. There is a much friendly spot just down the block.

We stayed in the Bridal Suite at the Baldachin Inn for one night. Check in was seamless and, we were allowed to get into the room way earlier than check in. The room is HUGE with a jacuzzi tub, electric fireplace, formal livingroom, informal den, four poster bed, separate shower and water closet. The ceilings must be 10 ft high! The room was very clean and the bed very comfy. The sheets were amazing! The room though, really needs some updating. It's most certainly has a "historic" feel. Could be better if they got rid of all the fake flower and plant arrangements as well as the bird cages, wreaths, etc. and repainted the room. Bottom line, would stay again. The room was $300 for the night so, not something we do often but was a nice treat all the same.

We booked two rooms (tried for one with two queens but they didn’t have available) for a family wedding as soon as we got the invite…….months ago. They called about 6-7 weeks ago to confirm we only needed the two rooms for the Friday night. I confirmed that. Upon check in, a short little man informed us there had been a mistake, one of our rooms had been given away, thus one of us was staying two doors down in a completely separate building. After telling him that wasn’t possible as we’re sharing so many amenities (my husband, our son, and I)he said we can’t help you then. To which my husband started asking more questions, which is when this man started laughing at us. One of his staff (yes, this no customer service, short little man was the owner) stepped in and said she would show us the other room. I will not share the things I said about this person, as I’m sure this is a family friendly forum!! Lori (Laurie sp?) saved the day!! On our walk to the other building, she explained how it might hold us all….it did, one queen, a pullout couch, a kitchenette, and small sitting area. She apologized immensely for the encounter we had. Way to be Lori……you ROCK!!! Your boss, not so much. So, in summing up, just because you have a reservation here, does NOT mean you have a reservation!! Oh, and if you’re looking for a FANTASTIC place to stay, try the Merrickville GuestSuites !!!!

Pros: Our room was very clean and quiet. Good place to stay for a weekend in Merrickville. Louise was very helpful when we arrived and showed us to our room and made sure we were comfortable. We loved the decor of the room and the lovely quilt on our bed. Cons: the standard room was very small and our room (#10) had the smallest shower known to man. We also found the bed to be a bit too firm for our liking. Overall would stay again.

Do not trust this place. They canceled our reservation many weeks after we booked and just said, "sorry, there is nothing we can do." We have booked and paid for a family of 5 to fly across the country, and now we have nowhere to stay. Customer service is completely non existent.
