Cigno Hotel Boutique- Adults Only

We were wowwed with every aspect of our stay here! Truly a luxurious option if you want to stay slightly outside of city-center for a quieter, more tranquil stay. We didn't have a bad meal here and the pool right outside your room was the perfect way to end each busy day to travel. Plus every room has this beautiful and unique sandalwood/honey scent that follows you throughout the day. Hosts Vanessa and Miguel were delightful and had all the best exploration tips. Perla and Miguel made every dining experience feel like an elevated experience. And mixologist Chino makes the *best* and most innovative cocktails (he needs to be on cocktail competition!). This was exactly what we were hoping for our visit- and we can't wait to come back!

The Hotel Cigno is a beautiful property. Unfortunately, my stay here was cut short due to a terrifying, safety incident involving their hotel elevator. During this incident, both my mom and I called out for help and none of the staff responded. We terminated our stay early and were promised a refund for the nights we did not stay there. Since we vacated the premises, I have not received confirmation of a refund or any communication from hotel management. This is disappointing and surprising given the hotel's caliber. I would recommend staying at a different hotel in the area with more experienced and responsive staff.

The hotel is beautiful and charming. It is about 10 minutes walk to reach downtown Merida which is convinient. We did not try the pools because of the rain, but they seem very nice. It is a nice place to visit Merida. I just found the hotel to be a bit expensive, for the price, I wish they would offer tea and coffee in the room (you get only 2 Nespresso coffee)

We enjoyed this boutique hotel! The room was comfortable. I appreciated the AC and the comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and took note of your specifics. I was really impressed that the staff noted it was my birthday even though we did not mention anything, one evening a waiter was waiting by our room with a treat unexpectedly. The staff was really helpful when arranging a car for us to the beach, everything was relaxed. I think it’s in a great location. We walked to the “chocolate hotel” which seemed to be in a less ideal location and felt very cheesy overall. One area I think cigno could improve would be the breakfast. There are not many options for vegetarians and it’s the same menu daily. They were willing to create an off the menu item but it was nothing special. We were also charged extra for a bowl of fruit even though breakfast was included. We have stayed in many great boutique hotels around Mexico and the breakfast offered couldn’t compare to those experiences. On the cigno website they mention their bakery which is around the corner, but I would expect that they would start the breakfast with a selection of those items to highlight that side of the hotel. We had a great breakfast at a local bakery, Soco. I was really appreciative of the staff and comfortable accommodations. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic service! Beautiful rooms! Excellent restaurant! We stayed at Cigno for 3 nights in March. Wonderful hotel in the center of Merida, close to everything. Our King Suite w/balcony was very large and comfortable. Beautiful bathroom and outdoor plunge. Highly recommend this room! The staff was wonderful, friendly and attentive. The food at the small poolside restaurant was excellent! We didn't want to leave!

What a lovely place to stay. Our experience from the minute we were arrived to our departure was amazing. The staff could not be more accommodating. The grounds are lovely. The room was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was a very good ate Breakfast and dinner. Definitely 5 stars.

Amazing stay. The photos don’t do it justice. When you walk in, it even smells amazing. It’s such a beautiful place. We loved eating breakfast every morning in the outdoor dining area. Bed comfortable, a/c worked great, and staff aims to please. everyone was very accommodating, from the waiters taking our orders in English, to the front desk man who gave us a great tour of the property and was extremely kind. It’s very clear the entire staff works very hard. We loved it.

To visit Merida is such a delight! The large historical center is a world of public parks and private gardens behind the walls of the colorful walls! The new hotel Cigno is the perfect combination of this. An elegant 10 room boutique hotel with two pools and a staff to die for. Every aspect has been designed and thought about without being fussy. Elegant comfortable beautiful rooms with a kitchen that makes it hard to leave the property! If you are visiting Merida for the first time or it’s your 10th visit, this is the perfect place to stay! As the hotel is new, My two suggestions to the owners, would be to change the policy of charging in advance for one’s stay, as it is unusual for a fine hotel. And find an area off the parking area for a very simple covered outdoor gym for guests and employees. I look forward to my next stay!

Lovely hotel! Beautifully appointed and gracious staff. Quite a nice respite from the heat and the bustle of town. It’s a bit out of the way, so just keep that in mind during the hotter months. We had a cloud cover for the week which made the walk into town bearable. The only draw back with the hotel, in my opinion, was the food/restaurant. I understand slow down on holiday, but I found the pace very very slow and the orders came out at different times, not well coordinated. I also found the food a bit bland. Lovely presentation though. With that being said, overall, a very nice stay in Merida.
