My husband and I stayed at Casa Azul five years ago for our honeymoon and it was so amazing, we decided to return for our 5-year anniversary! This is an absolutely beautiful property with impeccable service. So many nice little touches like welcome drinks on arrival, little chichen it's shaped chocolates on your pillow at night with a special message, organic shower products made with Mayan honey, and of course their incredible breakfast service. At night, there is always someone waiting at the gate to let you in no matter what the tine. We stayed in the Mejorada room with is gorgeous with high ceilings and a jetted tub. Although Casa Azul has its traditional charm, it's definitely upgraded and renovated enough to provide modern conveniences. The air condition was very good, plenty of outlets to charge things, etc. Breakfast service is the standout and often was one of the best meals of our trip. Their chilaquiles is especially incredible but you can't go wrong with any choice. Raul provided exceptional service and also accommodated a speedier service one day when we had a tour to catch earlier in the morning. Luna in the office was always super helpful to answer our questions and give us tips. Location-wise, it's steps away from el Paseo Mantejo and we felt very comfortable walking at night to and from our hotel from the center. Casa Azul cannot be missed!

Terrific hotel. Convenient yet quiet location. Very helpful staff. Beautiful spacious rooms. All rooms open to an amazing inner courtyard or pool. Relaxing. Great breakfast is included. I can’t imagine finding a better place to stay in Merida.

This hotel was perfect! There were even rose petals for our daily bath! They easily accommodated our special diet. Service people were all top notch! We didn’t use the pool or the gym. If you want a private, chill and upscale hotel experience that’s close enough to everything for walking or cheap Ubers stay here!

Booking this hotel at a non-refundable rate was the worst decision of my trip to Merida. I am pregnant and feared for my health and my developing baby’s while there, as the air quality inside the room smelled terribly musty and of insecticide. The bathroom had what looked like black mold growth on the floor next to the toilet (picture attached). The walls inside the bathroom and all around the room, including right behind the bed are bubbled up, which can be indicative of mold/ water damage (pictures attached). Given it’s five-star rating, I expected a room with safe air quality, free of mold and pests— the cleaning staff have a bottle of insecticide spray on their cleaning cart literally right next to the clean towels! During our stay, 100% of the staff we met were men, I asked if any women work there and they said a woman was working in the kitchen (we did not see the kitchen). While we had breakfast in the mornings, we were the only ones there surrounded by onlooking— albeit helpful— men. The lack of women and loneliness of the atmosphere made me personally feel uncomfortable and I looked forward to not spending time at the hotel, not even sleeping, as I feared for my developing baby’s health. Sleeping with the windows open was not an option as some are closed shut with glass, there are no window screens and mosquitoes are rampant in the evenings. Overall, this hotel felt like a health hazard and an awkward place to stay during my vacation.

Brought back my family and had a really good time, we had 7 rooms so almost the whole hotel. Nice clean rooms, quite a bit of character, and good service. Breakfast is yummy and we spent a couple of afternoons by the pool enjoying the weather and having drinks. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Merida.

Hotel is very nice. Had two rooms and each was unique and nice in its own way. Brekafqts was delicious and it was a pleasure to eat on the terrace. Service was friendly and we were happy with our choice. Will come back if I'm ever in Merida.

This is a historical hotel that has been taken very good care of. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, there’s a small plunge pool if you just need to cool down. The personnel/service at this hotel is as good as it gets anywhere. A short walk away are restaurants, and shops.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel in Merida for 6 nights. It is very historic and small. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was large and spacious. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. You are given a breakfast every morning on the beautiful enclosed plaza. The food was delicious and had lots of options.
