This hotel was fantastic for the night we stayed. The food was magnificent and the wine was amazing. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Dominique for his wine recommendations. Victoria for her excellent service and Josyane the owner. We only stayed 1 night as we passed through. But we will definitely be back to stay again. A welcoming atmosphere and beautiful hotel and building. The exterior when driving in was fantastic and we ate outside on the terrace. We were impressed Mark and Valerie.

The whole experience at Hostellerie Le Roy Soleil was absolutely unforgettable. Our plane from Paris to Marseilles was delayed and we were going to arrive late to the property. We called the reception from the road and they asked the kitchen to remain open so we could have diner well past their closing time. The menu was delicious and the service impeccable. The property is absolutely gorgeous on a quiet countryside. Large and comfortable rooms. Beautifully arranged gardens and great pool. The only thing you hear all day long are the crickets to put you to sleep. Everybody on the premises is extremely friendly. This is a spectacular place if you want to rest , unwind in an idyllic setting. We will be back !

The property itself is very pretty , great pool and very good food - however the owners lack of English and organisation skills are very limited - There is a very good manager but he seems to do everything for her because she is so chaotic ! For those that remember Faulty towers , this is the French version - you need a car to get to the nearest towns and villages , they are a long walk ! My room was fine but it needs updating and the rooms vary alot - the better rooms are in the first building near reception - it was okay but I’m not sure I would stay there again.

Worst check in experience ever. After arriving at 9pm the receptionist informed us that the hotel didn’t have any availabilities. Although we showed them our ******* confirmation, and receipt that we fully prepaid the hotel, she claimed that there was nothing that she could do, except to reimburse us. Then she changed her mind and was not willing to reimburse us, as she said that we had to ask for a refund with *******. After arguing for about an hour, she finally gave us a room. No apologies, no explanations. they offered one free dinner and free breakfast, which she asked us to partly pay at the end of the stay, which we refused. Unfriendly, unhelpful, and the place was in general a bit rundown. I cannot recommend this placee!

Worst check-in ever! The receptionist simply informed us that they had no rooms available. First she said that they would simply reimburse us, and that we just had to find another place. Then she changed her mind and asked us to check with ******* to get a refund, nothing that she could do to help us. After arguing for about an hour, she gave us a room. No apology, no explanations, nothing. They offered free breakfast though…but during check-out she wanted us to pay for pert of the breakfast which we refused.

We (two couples) stayed at Le Roy Soleil and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location, just outside Menerbes, is ideal to explore the Luberon. It’s a short drive into Ménerbes for dinner options. We also had dinner at the hotel and the hospitality and cooking were both excellent. Our rooms were comfortable. A few reviews have suggested ‘tired’ but for us everything worked fine and we thought they were good value. We’d definitely return.

Although we booked through *********** on arrival there was no confirmation of our booking. Even though I had emailed them to ask for an evening meal, which they confirmed. Yet when we arrived no room at the inn! It was a bank holiday so had to drive another hour and a half to find alternative accommodation.

I felt itchy at night and was covered in red patches. I looked at the mattress and saw bloody droppings with bedbugs. I was disgusted. I took the duvet and slept on the couch. The cleaning wasn't great and the air conditioning wasn't working. The pool wasn't cleaned. High potential for this establishment but no maintenance. You absolutely need to contact M6 to straighten this out.
