This was the second time we stayed here and it was under new management. My wife and I were very much impressed with Carole and Carl’s friendliness and their ability to make guests feel welcome and right at home. The location suits us perfectly being out of town and secluded. I made the reservations late so only could get a small room but in talking to Carole, a larger room became available the next day and we stayed in the Massawippi room with a beautiful view of the lake. My wife loves the area as she spent time there as a child with her grandparents who owned a farm. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and very nicely air conditioned. The two new spa pools were great fun, we used them both days and towels and robes were provided. The staff is courteous and friendly, willingly speak English (Quebec being notorious French can be difficult at times but none of that here either at the Auberge or in North Hatley). The breakfasts , cooked by Carole, were gourmet in every sense of the word. Crepes with Canadian maple syrup one day and omelets in home made croissants the next. We ate well. We will be back!

Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with this place and its owner. We had booked a nice room for 1 night as we wanted to visit the Eastern Townships and this place looked good based on the photos. We arrived at the hotel (which is on an isolated road) at around 3:20 PM and it was totally deserted. There was no car or anyone to be found. Rang the office bell a few times, called them a few times but no answer. We waited for about 20 mins and then left as it seemed very weird that no one was there even though their office hours are advertised as 7:30 am to 8 pm on ******* (where we booked from). Also, it was raining and we were tired from our journey and had to use the rest rooms. Since there was nothing nearby, we just went to Sherbrooke for a known hotel chain and messaged the hotel via ******* to cancel our reservation as no one was there at the hotel. Next morning, I noticed a full charge on my credit card and when I called the hotel, owner kept saying that check in time starts at 4 pm and if I had read the policy. These are usual check in times at most places and this does not mean that there should be no one at all at the hotel if someone arrives just before check in time. Anyways, the owner has put all the blame on us and is not ready to refund even a partial amount, which we find very unreasonable. Anyways, pls go at your own risk as this is the first time I have had to deal with such a situation. Just wanted to share the experience - not telling anyone to go to this place or not.

A quiet refuge with a view of the lake and distant mountains. Located on a dirt road off the main route. Stnd. room very small but included a nice bathroom and shower. AC/Heat pump on the wall with remote worked properly. No TV in room. Proprietors very hospitable, welcome conversation and provided a great homemade breakfast. We were the only guests on our 1 night stay.

This is a lovely inn overlooking the lake. Carol is a wonderful host who goes out of her way to make your stay amazing. We stayed in an enormous room with a comfy king bed, 13 windows, spa tub, kitchenette, and stone fireplace. Many thanks to Carol and Carl for a memorable special weekend!

Our daughter was married at Auberge Le Tricorne Inn last weekend! It was WONDERFUL. Carol and her staff are helpful and friendly, we felt as if we were saying good bye to family members when our time to leave sadly approached. The Inn is beautiful, impeccably maintained, everyone said their beds were comfortable and we all slept well. Breakfast is... amazing. Fabulous waffles, homemade pastries, breads, fruit, coffee, tea, juice- so pleasing to the adults and to the half dozen children who stayed at the Inn for the wedding. All of the rooms were rented to guests of the wedding, and each one was beautiful, well appointed, and everything you would want at a Bed & Breakfast. Everyone at Auberge was helpful for the wedding ceremony and reception that followed in a tent on the premises. Now that we have all returned to our homes, we miss Carol, Carl, and their family - and when you depart, you will too. T

This inn is beautiful and inviting. Our room was huge with a small balcony and a great view of the lake in the distance. The place is pristine and well maintained. The breakfast was gourmet. The prices are great for the area. The owners couldn't be more helpful. My husband and I are already planning a return trip in the fall.

Sometimes it is not just about the rooms, (ours was clean and had everything we needed) or about the breakfast (ours was delicious and filled us up for the drive home) or about the location (which was beautiful with amazing views) but it is how you feel when you walk in the door! Carole and Carl were lovely hosts and welcomed us to their special place. It is definitely a place you will want to come back to again and again. ;-)
