La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Memphis Wolfchase

The property as a whole is modern, clean, and well-maintained. Parking is spacious and well-lit, and the location is easy to reach from the interstate but positioned so there's no road noise reaching the room to interrupt your sleep. The associates at the front desk were welcoming, courteous, efficient, helpful, and professional both at check-in and check-out, and the associate on night duty was particularly helpful in promptly figuring out and fixing a glitch in the TV in my room. The room and bath were sparkling clean, the bed and other furnishings were very comfortable, and the reading light next to the couch was much appreciated in a time when good reading lights in hotels seem to be almost extinct. The HVAC worked quietly and accurately. I had to hit the road too early to sample breakfast, but I noted that the breakfast area was spacious and well-lit. All in all an excellent night's rest after a long day on the road, and at a very reasonable price - highly recommend!

I was in town to help my daughter move to the area and help her get settled while she worked at her new job and I worked remotely during the days. The biggest complaint I had was the internet speed. I'm in IT and work remotely, participating in video calls throughout the day. Because of this, I upgraded my internet speed to the better quality. After having problems on my video calls, I contacted Comcast (the ISP for the hotel) and they couldn't figure it out and were supposed to send someone out to investigate and fix the issue. This was on Wednesday and I checked out on Saturday morning with no resolution and no speed improvement. Throughout my stay, the faucet in the kitchen leaked maybe one drip every three or four seconds progressing to 1-2 drips each second and wrapping up my stay with a narrow but steady stream of water. The maintenance tech came up on Friday and found she didn't have the parts needed to fix it and it apparently wasn't too high on the priority list to source them locally. I was told it would wait until Monday when she returned. Again, I checked out on Saturday with no resolution. Overall, the kitchen is tired as is several non-room aspects of the property. The veneer on the particle board cabinetry is delaminating and some of the doors don't even hang straight anymore. The fridge doors look like someone took a hammer to them. Some of the stair treads have come loose and are most definitely a trip-and-fall hazard. The whole thing's seen better days. Oh, and I can't forget the daily smell of someone smoking **** on my floor - IN A NON-SMOKING BUILDING! I was required to stay another week and so I moved to a different ESA location across town; I should have stayed at this one, even with its issues. I don't know if the problem is endemic to Memphis or system-wide, but I'm not impressed. Needless to say, I won't be staying with ESA anytime soon.

Do NOT book here if you consider your health important! The basic: Booked based on pictures and a 4.8 rating that some kind of associated booking with Trivago. Non refundable and didn’t pay attention. That was definitely super stupid of me to not check all other reviews. This doesn’t even deserve one star. OYO, I see all your responses to reviews like this. You’re being lied to by whatever owner or franchise owner runs this place, or you’re liars, one of the two. You’ve responded that this doesn’t represent your standards. Every day this place is open it’s ruining whatever standards or reputation you DO have. Based on this experience I will never set foot in another OYO again. The details: Booked today, 9/18/23, for check in tonight. Received room 210. Let me tell you how this went. Upon arriving realized it was nothing CLOSE to photos. Lobby is slightly upkept to give a better impression. But if you look close you can actually see the coffee table isn’t clean at all when the light hits it. You turn the hallway to go find your room and you are met with dark, dank, disgustingly filthy hallway and the reeking smell of ********* despite all the signs around the front saying you’ll lose your stay if you smoke there. Trying to keep hope perhaps the rooms are in better shape, get on the elevator and suddenly wonder if it’s ever been inspected and KNOW it’s not been mopped in a month of Sundays. Get to the room and it’s disgusting. Plus no fridge. Switch rooms for room 408. The smell gets worse on that floor. Also disgusting hallway. Get to this second room to discover the same exact filth except worse if possible, because there’s recognizable body fluids on the spread. Pull back the sheets to see the slept in kind of wrinkles and different color pieces of fiber from clothes etc. Like the first room, the walls are not just stained. No, that would represent something HAD been there and been cleaned. Instead, the walls are covered in unknown substances you can see have dropped down or been smeared. You can even make out some handprints. The drywall/plaster is chipped all over. The floor is dull and uncleaned like everywhere else. You can’t even touch a light switch without feeling like you need sanitizer. There’s ***** hair on the toilet. Bugs in the cracks of the top of the wall. The curtains are dry rotted on the back. The lamp has something spilled all over it. I can’t even describe the putrid smoke/marijuana smell. Immediately leave and just eat the cost of a 3 night stay. Oh yeah, and the fire extinguisher case on floor 4 is busted with open glass. That’s super safe and I’m sure up to fire marshall code. And the exit is padlocked and busted off the hinges. Top notch care about the safety of the guests. You may see some numbers and think it’s alright OYO, but I guarantee you have some long term stayers here who are most of your actual income. What’s pathetic is because of the general location and <20 minute drive to most things, I wo
Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis East Germantown Area

We stayed at a fantastic Hampton Inn in Nashville on our first night of a mini vacation to Nashville and Memphis. Was so very much looking forward to the next 2 nights in Memphis. This hotel was a complete let down. It was very dated. Couldn’t watch tv the whole time we were here. It kept stopping and becoming distorted. The sounds would come and go. Very annoying! The tub was slick and I almost slid up before I could reach the grab bar. I brought several snacks to warm in the microwave. Surprise there was not one in the room. A fridge but no microwave. The ice machine was missing off the 2nd floor. Had to go to the first floor to get ice. The whole building had an old musky smell. Even the lamps were rusty! Nothing modern about this place. Looks and feels like the 1980s. My son and his fiancé stayed in the room across the hall. He has the same problems! I only gave it 2 stars because the bed was comfortable. Can’t believe we paid approximately $150 per night for this joint!! Very disappointed with lots of regrets! Sharon
