Hotel Napoleon Memphis

This is a great hotel with nice clean rooms and comfy bed. Lovely big TV in the room with accessible HDMI port for bringing your own device. I know you don’t book into a hotel to lie and watch TV but it’s nice to catch up on things after a long day out. Location is excellent as no more than 10 min walk to downtown Beale St, and 20 mins to Sun Studios, where the magic began. Reception being renovated while we were there so not quite as functional as it should be but staff were terrific and incredibly polite. Rocky the concierge/manager was a bundle of fun and provided some great info on what to do in this great city 👍

I stayed here for 2 nights for work. The room was clean and spacious. The employees were kind and super helpful in answering questions of where to eat. They made an effort to attend to our needs. The only downside was that their breakfast and other dining areas remain under renovation.

The hotel is located at a central place. It is just a short walk to downtown, Beale Street, etc. It is an old buildig, but renovated and updated to a modern design. If you want to go to Graceland, only 10-15 minute drive from here. Our room was very spacious and has a modern feel. Everyting was very nice. The vanity / sink is separate from the bath and toilet. Only minor was a next door neighbour who was having a very loud phone call in the middle of the night! We had to knock on the wall, but he did not take the hint. (Not the fault of the hotel of course!) There is no breakfast included (we knew that), but there is an payed option at the hotel, but there is also a nice place very closeby, called "Memphis Chess Club". Sai from reception provided us with tips for eating and sightseeing. Thanks again. The only problem we encountered, was parking. We booked this hotel because of the parking they stated to have "on site". But we had to use the parking garage next door. This wouldn't have been a problem, if this would have worked decently. They use a system where you have to call for entering or exiting the garage. This was not working at all, but we would like to mention Sai from reception again, who tried to help us with this. Finally, we made it into and out of the garage, but we did have difficulties with the paying system, which we took up with the garage itselfs. It would be efficient if the hotel could collaborate with the parking next door. That would really upgrade the whole experience. Other than that; great hotel! We can definitely recommend. Location, cleanliness, modern, staff were all great.

What a wonderful hotel; it's our home away from home when we visit our freshman daughter at Rhodes College. Rocky, the manager, and his terrific staff (Tim, Anuhya, and their associates) have become like family members over the numerous times we have visited Memphis the past 6 months. The hotel is a conversion from a stately and elegant beaux arts building with wonderfully voluminous rooms; the current lobby and dining/bar renewal project is almost completed and will result in a welcoming and sleek setting. The major differentiator between Hotel Napoleon and its competition is in its genuinely kind, relaxed, and approachable staff - your visit will leave you with a new set of friends you'll want to come back to.

When we arrived the complete ground floor of this hotel was out of action for refurb. So no reception, bar or restaurant . We were shocked. We should of been emailed about the renovation. We had 4 nights booked here. We stayed 2 nights and moved on. As well as the ground floor being refurbished the bedrooms are very tired and need a complete refurbishment. They don't look like the photo's. The area is desolate. Empty buildings all around and lots of homeless people about. Didn't feel particularly safe here. However the staff are absolutely amazing. They tried so hard to make us comfortable. So friendly and kind . We received a refund for 2 nights. I felt bad leaving as they were so wonderful but this hotel just wasn't what we expected . Neither was memphis to be honest

Stayed for a night at very short notice as the hotel we had booked was such a derelict hell hole. This one was having its reception refurbished so there was no restaurant or bar in action, looks like it will be lovely when finished soon. Right in the centre of town so great. Rooms comfy and reception staff excellent.

The hotel was very nice, beds were great, nice big showers and Rocky, Sai and the entire staff were all so nice. The parking was a little confusing but we figured it out. They were also doing some construction but we can't wait to see how it all looks when we come back. We will definitely stay here again.

Had a great stay for four nights. Room was spacious and comfortable. Very convenient location and staff very friendly and helpful. Special mention for Rocky who set us up every day with a great chat and helpful advice and guidance over coffee.

We were recommended this hotel by a travel company, and after checking out reviews on trip advisor, we booked to stay here for 2 nights so we could visit Graceland. Unfortunately, this was not a great time. We arrived early in the morning, and apart from leaving our bags in the reception area (basic standard), we were not offered any support other than to sit on the sofa in reception. The coffee shop didn't open until after 8 am. When we returned after 3 p.m., we booked in and found the lift was not working and hadn't been for a few weeks. There was no offer to help with taking our bags up 3 flights of stairs to our room. The room was OK but a little basic. It is in need of a refurbishment. The staff did not speak very good English, and we ended up having breakfast at a Costa round the corner due to a lack of choice and understanding at the Luna bar. If you are visiting Memphis and to be honest, there is not much here other than Graceland. I would not stay at Napoleon.
