Caybeach Meloneras

Nice hotel in good location about a 20 min walk to the lighthouse. It backs onto a roundabout but its quiet. We had a double room which was accessed via a narrow marble staircase so not for those with mobility issues. Ground floor rooms are available. The room was compact but had a kettle cups glasses and mini fridge so we were able to do our own bfast. Bathroom large with lots of area for toiletries and hairdryer. Large powerful shower. Nice generous balcony with table chairs and laundry dryer. Quiet hotel with entertainment most nights in bar but shuts at 10pm which i feel is a bit early but meloneres is laid back. You can travel to playa del ingles or puerto rico by bus or taxi if you want it lively. We had bfast one morning but found the hot food cold so not worth the €12pp we paid. It needs to be hotter or provide a microwave for heating. We found some other restaurants and bars to the right of the hotel. Sunset bar was great for snacks and drinks. There is also a supermarket there. There is one on site but its dearer but handy for water. A large bottle was in our room on arrival which was good. Pools are nice but the 2 together were chilly and needed to be warmer. We did aqua a few times with Isobel who was good, other activities are available too. There is a larger warmer pool over the back which i used daily. We had an issue on arrival with the safe and with the sink plug and blockage which were both sorted quickly. Lots of sunbeds and towels available for use. Nice and clean. Most staff friendly. We have booked again.

Superb. If you love loud music, noisy neighbours and generally a down market holiday, this isn't the place for you. Its the most quiet and relaxing holiday I've ever had. The resort is exceptionally clean and well laid out. The rooms are comfortable with fantastic balconies if on the upstairs rooms. Food is what you'd expect from a buffet, decent selection, freshly cooked. The staff are fantastic, very pleasant and helpful. I'd highly recommend it for those seeking peace and quiet during their stay. The small supermarket is well stocked and at reasonable prices. The small bar although on site is privately owned with such pleasant staff & the food and drink on offer are wide ranging and quality with the odd entertainment thrown in at evening time. The pools are kept very clean. A short walk and you can either head toward the more lively side or the lovely restaurants with beautiful views of the sunsets. We are already looking to book our next stay there.

Solo traveller 7 night stay. Accommodating immaculate on arrival, bottle of fizz (left as didn't drink), and coffee pods x4 in room plus 1 litre h2o. Nice touch. Room serviced 2 x in 7 nights. S'ok, I'm tidy but would have liked towels. Fridge didn't work, but s'ok as went 1/2 board. Complex and pools immaculate. Lots of walking to and frow not best if you have motability issues. It's a good 20-minute walk to anything local, including the buses. Beaches were lovely, as is the sea front to the lighthouse and beyond. This is not the best place for anyone who may have ANY joint problems. No hand rail into the pools to help. Breakfast was fair and enough choice to ensure everyone catered for apart from vegans it looked like but I feel the staff would have accomodated. Evening meal ok but quite limited and repetitive selections. Selections not refreshed enough or warm enough and no microwave to heat anything up. Water had to be bought 2.5 euros for 500mls. Onsite shop 1 euro 1000mls! Staff were professional and helpful, small onsite bar reasonable and food was good there. Overall had a good time weather was fab, no hassle or overbearing behaviour but it's definitely a 3 star in my book. Wouldn't go back basically due to the constant having to walk 20 minutes plus for anything.

Second time staying here and was just as good as first time around. Lovely hotel in a nice quiet location with plenty of shops and bars just a 10 mins walk away. Room was lovely and we were lucky enough to get one right by the pool so very handy. Clean and spacious with maid service 5 days out of 7. Plenty of sunbeds at pools and wasn’t overly crowded. Had breakfast and dinner a couple of times and both were good value for money with plenty of choice. We ate lunch most days at Taste Pool Bar which was great. Staff were very friendly and we got to keep our room for a later checkout too which was perfect. Would definitely come back

Not a bad hotel has all you need location is not ideal unless you like walking the nearest beach and resort is poor and the better one is 1.2km away can get tiring doing this walk over and over, the hotel is ok needs some refurbishment, our room had a few nasty defects broken rail trim in the room hanging off etc. not a great view either as based next to some derelict land although can see the sea from one of the pools, breakfast was ok nice choice and friendly staff. Pool bar good and entertainment in the evening prices could be cheaper as easier to use the shop for drinks etc a third of the price. The main pool which is quite deep should really be adults only has a lot of kids annoyingly screaming and jumping in all day when they have a shallower pool below and a splash park. Reception on arrival not that friendly had to pay deposit for a remote control ridiculous, didn’t give us bands and bar was closed early, they do have entertainment some nights which was good. For the price it’s a good stay but is better hotels a lot nearer to the main centre and beach which look a lot nice and more luxurious . Also said cannot reserve sun beds ppl where doing this and no rules being enforced. Worth a visit good for family’s just location bit out of the way.

Sound proofing in rooms very poor. Frequently woken by noise from apartment below and outside despite requesting quiet room My Room was a superior room and well situated at bottom end near large pool. But family of 4 below woke at 6am and neighbours across the street partied until 11.30pm. Reception staff don’t provide information about some basic facilities eg tv control not in room- you need to get from reception. Reception not friendly but do respond if you have issues. Bar friendly but not much atmosphere. Entertainment in bar not the best. 3 pools including one for children and one 25 metre pool. Lots of sun beds and ok gym, crazy golf and paddle court. Rooms a little tired but clean. Great for active couples who don’t want to be too near the centre. I gave it average as I was unable to get a good night sleep due to noise. I was there for 12 nights and had 4 new neighbours below during my stay - which causes disturbance if rooms not soundproofed. One family were particularly noisy- not hotels fault but if soundproofing was better it may not have been as bad.
