The hotel is renovating. That doesn't have to be a problem. Unless the renovation is right next to your room. We booked a suite. Thinking we would have a nice stay. Buy when we arrived our room door was against the construction area. There was a lot of dust. Since I have astma that caused my astma to get worse. There was a lot of noise. The construction workers were slamming the steel door over and over at 7 am. There wifi was bad. There was a tablet in the room but couldn't connect to the wifi. There were only coffee facilities but no tea facilities. The staff didn't really care. They just said on the site it says there is construction. But if you are in a corner right next to it they should not rent out those rooms. They don't care about customers just about getting the rooms booked. Bad service!

We stay there often on our way to Amsterdam or back. On the whole we love it. Except that recently the room cleaning staff has changed from polite Ukrainian ladies to some other ethnic minority personel less well trained. Again and again we seam to be rushed in the morning to vacate the room to let them clean it at their convenience. Unacceptable. Please do instruct your staff better.

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions over the years. Booked by telephone with email follow up to confirm. Booked for a family of 2 adults and 2 children, aged 6 and 10. We arrived to find a double bed and a low wooden single bed with single pillow. We asked at reception about another bed. We were told there was no room for another bed. Couldn’t the 6 year old sleep with the parents? This is not a cheap hotel, but never even in budget hotels have we been asked that. Paying for 4 people to sleep in a room for 3 is not on. No apologies from staff. We heard the staff asking the manager if we could have an apartment. He said no. They the suggested a ‘babybett’, a cot or crib! They really suggested that for a 6 year old. We went elsewhere. I think they are letting down the image of Van der Valk Hotels

We spent there one night on our way to Amsterdam. It is a Dutch chain operating this particular hotel in Germany. A good combination one should think. The hotel with an unmistakable logo of a toucan is a three story building situated close to the motorway, which we find very convenient. Our ground floor room faced the garden with a little pond and a fountain. It also sported a little terrace, which must be very nice on sunny days. Lovely. And very quiet. The other side faces the car park and the motorway beyond. The lobby/restaurant /bar is all an open space, modern and quite cozy with a fireplace. Our room was comfortable and spacious but the decor was rather dull and uninspiring. Capacious bathroom, comfortable bath tub, separate shower, good quality toiletries. Complimentary bottle of water per person in a mini fridge. No mini bar though. We didn’t like the poor lighting, also one bulb was gone and never replaced though we complained. One of the magnetic cards never worked either. The bed was very comfortable and we couldn’t sleep better. Then comes the food. At dinner we had a choice: a la carte or buffet. A la carte menu was pretty boring so we went for the buffet. Maybe not that smart but plentiful and surprisingly (or perhaps not?) very good and fresh. Every dish we tried was very tasty and we loved the food as well as the bottle of Pinot grigio we ordered. The service was polite and competent. We probably ate too much of everything including ice cream. The same goes for breakfast, which was excellent. All in all we liked the hotel so much we are very likely to stay there again as we travel regularly along this route.

The room was great and spacious and facing the garden side. The Staff was very friendly. Spa is a bit small but enough for some relaxing time, wish they had a pool though. I booked a Massage in the Araam Massage, the massage was very good professional and i felt really comfortable. Breakfast Buffet was really good.

Parkplätze gibt es ums Haus. Die Rezeption ist freundlich und unterstützend. Um so ärgerlicher ist es, dass meine Reservierung für 2 Personen im Hotelrestaurant Roots zwar angenommen, aber offenbar nicht weitergegeben wurde. Mein geräumiges Zimmer im Erdgeschoß ist klimatisiert, es hat eine kleine Loggia mit Blick auf einen Teich. Der Schrank und die Truhe bieten Stauraum für längere Aufenthalte. Das passiv belüftete Bad mit WalkIn-Dusche und separater Toilette verfügt über ausreichend Ablagefläche. Das TV hat eine große Kanalauswahl in unzeitgemäß niedriger Bildauflösung, Radiosender gibt es nicht. Ein gut dimensionierter Schreibtisch erlaubt es zu arbeiten. Das WLAN ist stabil. Der Fitness- und Wellnessbereich ist gut ausgestattet, leider hatte ich keine Zeit, ihn zu nutzen. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend, und kombiniert die Besonderheiten deutscher und holländischer Küche. Enorm lang wachten op personeel dat ongeïnteresseerd is en een bestelling op wil nemen. Totaal geen aanrader. Deuren stonden wagenwijd open maar het was zo rond de 13 graden celcius. Thee en koffie was overigens wel lekker. Maar toen we af wilde rekenen moesten we aan een beveiliger vragen naar wie we konden gaan, aangezien er niemand in het restaurant leek te zijn.

Prachtig hotel en prima locatie. Rustig gelegen. We verbleven in een junior suite. De suite is modern, ruim en schoon. Heerlijke kamer. Bed is uitstekend. Had alleen wat breder gemogen. Ruime badkamer met aparte douche. Modern en voorzien van twee wasbakken. Heerlijk. Het uitzicht vanuit het ballon was prachtig en heuvelachtig. Het eten is, zoals we gewend zijn bij Van der Valk, heerlijk. Ontbijtbuffet goed en in de avond hadden we ook een buffet. Zalig gegeten. Het restaurant is modern. Er is een zitje met open haard, gezellig. Een dagje naar Osnabruck geweest. Is goed te doen met de auto vanuit het hotel, ongeveer 25 minuten rijden. Leuk stad met veel winkel en de kerstmarkt was gezellig. Echt een aanrader. Kortom we hebben het heerlijk gehad.
