Location in free tram zone that is highly accessible to any places in Melbourne. Hotel will contact you if you're arriving after check-in hours or you will need to email them to inform on your arrival time. Guidelines will be given by hotel. In the room, you will get basic toiletries, free instant coffee/tea/sugar/creamer/milk, microwave, mini fridge, hair dryer, iron, and towels.

City Square Motel is located on Swanston Street, the most convenient street in Melbourne CBD, where lots of free trams are available right downstairs. With a walking distance you can get to many famous tourist attractions, including the most iconic Flinder Train Station. The room was equipped with an air con, a microwave, a toaster, and some utensils, ideal for those who want to heat up food.
However, its biggest drawbacks are the cleanliness and old amenities. I saw stains on the carpet, on the table, and on the bathroom floor. Some socket were out of use. One of them even got the buzz noises while I was trying to plug in the hair dryer. The toilet was leaking, with water running all day. Repair needed.

Amazing room size, aged hotel but located in a terrific spot, laundry room is convenient and easy to access, shower is great and hot. Highly recommend for a budget stay
If any improvements needed it would be brighter lighting in hallway and in room

Super convenient location. It is clean, and provided basic necessities. Not very comfortable mattresses. No one answered the phone when we called. No extra blankets when requested.

the lobby and hallway smells like piss. would reccommend to book other budget places as the budget for this place was not worth. the bathroom was not cleaned well. as well as stains were there on the bed linnen. could not get over how the place smells like piss. receptionist was also not that friendly. though it was at a good location! thats the best thing about it

Carpet and windows was filthy. It’s impossible to leave your bag apart from the 3 hour check in window. Good luck to anyone arriving in the middle of the night.

This place is not a new one, but still tidy enough. Would be more glad if the broken appliances were working and fixed.
