The room shown in pictures didn’t match what was offered on site. Very misleading. Took an hour of to and fro to be allocated a different room. The travel voucher never arrived by email, spent $$ on travel first day (shouldn’t have to) and got a travel voucher later after escalating to customer service. Breakfast was fine. It’s a nice property but a few niggles as above. Must show correct pictures for rooms on advert.

A very good Swiss country hotel. Very clean, with Swiss residential characteristics. If you drive, I recommend this one. It's a ten-minute drive to Lucerne. Don't compare it with international brand hotels. Travel accommodation is safe, clean and distinctive. As for luxury, it's all about money, but it can be salty🉑️sweet

A very friendly welcome with Swiss hospitality- a hotel that maintains standards for cleaning, service and hosting.Family owned which reflects in the hosting. Breakfast was very good and sorry i didn’t have more meals as the restaurant menu seemed very tempting.On the hills of Lucerne with a bus stop right outside for easy commuting if not with a car.

Great stay right outside the center of Luzern. We were looking for a hotel with parking but there are not many options in the city center and those that do offer parking are very expensive. This location was great for us as we had a car and we would drive in to the city, paying for parking only for a few hours. The hotel offers free parking so this worked out perfect for us. We had a family suite with beds for 4 people. Lots of space with lots of light due to the many windows facing the front of the hotel. Breakfast was very good and the outdoor terrace offered beautiful views of the mountains. All staff was very nice to us. The only complaint is the bathroom door in the room. This is a opaque glass sliding door, which does not completely shut and offers no privacy whatsoever. There were 4 of us inside the room and this lack of privacy made us all quite uncomfortable. I don`t understand why they chose to install these type of doors!!! Besides the issue with the bathroom door, this is a very nice hotel, conveniently located for visiting the Luzern area, if you have a car.

Very clean room,good breakfast and superb view. Quiet and good position. Near bus station. Just 10 minutes from Lucerne train station. I was walking from Balm hotel to Lucerne and have great view and wheatear and everything was amazing .Thank you!!

We stayed at Balm Meggen for 3 nights in Nov 2009 and we must say that this is the best room that we have ever stayed during our 2 weeks trip in Italy & Switzerland! The room itself is newly renovated, very clean and spacious, and has a balcony which overlooks the beautiful view of the garden and Lake Lucerne. The service is excellent and impeccable. And we love the fact that there is a free wireless internet service provided – an added bonus for us. The location itself is also very convenient – there is a bus stop just in front of the hotel and it's only 10 minutes ride to the centre of Lucerne. We will definitely recommend for anyone who visit Lucerne to stay at this place. It is a 5 stars accommodation for the price of 3 stars!

It was simply a pleasure to stay here. Great staff, great location, beautiful garden, good bistro and breakfast. Quiet surrounds, views to the surrounding mountains, spacious room. A couple of free drinks on arrival. Most of the staff were english speaking. We were traveling by train around europe so we had to catch the bus to and from the center of luzern to the hotel. It was easy to do and the trip on the bus was worth it for the surrounds. The bus system is really easy to understand lots of electronic signs. Will stay in the hotel balm whenever i'm in luzern, we stayed for 3 nights hope to stay longer next time. Most memorable hotel of whole trip.

We went to Balm because all hotels in Lucern were already full, but we regret we did. The hotel restaurant was closed (it's closed two days a week). The man at the reception asked us if we needed some help to carry our luggage upstairs because there was no elevator. We answered that we needed help, but he just stayed still, smiling and watching us carrying our luggage upstairs. At night the hotel is closed so the hall and the car park are completely dark!! Rooms are nothing special. Small breakfast.

This hotel is perfectly located to visit Lucern and all the surroundings. The room was very large and just as the pictures. Very nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop just in front of the hotel, so it is very easy to go to Lucern. The pool is a plus, with its stunning view on the mountain. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, not in the choice (which is quite large) but in the quality (e.g. cereals were from big brands). The Bircher was delicious though.

Only book this hotel if you are 100% going to stay here. I had a refundable room with free cancellation where I pay at the property not before my stay. They charged my card 10 months before I was planning on staying there the full amount of the stay. I was not ready to pay for this stay 10 months before my visit so I cancelled my reservation and lost $25 on exchange rate on my credit card. Don't waste your time unless you are fine with them charging for the full amount before your visit.

Good hotel to stay in. Have bus stops exactly at the gate. Great friendly people who are ready to help all the time. The only caveat is that the building is old and lacks an elevator to take the luggage upstairs. But people offer help for the same. Overall very nice to stay in here
