Thank you Christine and your lovely staff for making our stay at your hotel in Megeve so wonderful and relaxing despite all that is going on in the world at the moment. The hotel is only 2 minutes walk into the village centre and 5 minutes from the village gondola ski lift. We really enjoyed the meals at the hotel and also the French Coffees afterwards! This hotel is I think, the only family run hotel in Megeve so support them instead of the Corporates and you will be very well looked after during your stay.
Coeur de Megève

Coeur de Megève was exceptionally lovely and surpassed our expectations. The service is fantastic- intimate, thoughtful and helpful- from remembering our coffee orders, our ski itinerary, to helping us remove our ski boots….. Our room wasn’t large but was beautiful, lux , comfortable and allowed us sleep soundly. The location is amazing. Recommendations for skiing and food added significantly to our holiday. Nicholas, Quentin and staff made our stay extra special. We very much hope to return next year. Thanks to you all for a most special holiday.

As a package it could not be better. Great mix between proximity to the ski slopes, quality of the services and accommodation, and mostly the amazing staff! If you are heading to Megève for a skiing break, and are looking for a family like place, then this is your hotel/home to stay in!

I booked this for one night in February as our family just wanted accommodation for a night close to megeve village for a special dinner - and this is the only place we could find in the February holidays that would take a single night booking over the weekend . So, brownie points at least for that! The price wasn’t bad and we had two rooms for 4 of us, but actually we could have all made it into one room as a family, Clearly the case as the room next to us had about 8 adults in it who partied long and hard across the balcony! Rooms were pretty large with a kitchenette. The parking was a bit of a faff and end corridors leading to our rooms were pitch black, reminded me of cinema corridors, and the rooms themselves were also too dark and narrow between bathrooms and door. Weird layout. One child was spooked by the place, so that wasn’t ideal! What a contrast with the reception which sings out at you and looks all stylish and welcoming. If the entire hotel was like that, it would be a wow . But really this is a “motel in the mountains”. Breakfast was poor value which is a shame and when I asked the staff to print me out ski passes for the day - standard request in a ski resort - they said that wasn’t possible unless I’d ordered them the night before. Other hotels just issue them at reception! I don’t think I’d stay again, but it served its purpose.
Four Seasons Hotel Megeve

This is a very different hotel to the other four season winter resorts, yet clearly borrows many of the same concepts; - it’s definitely more glitzy, not in an over the top pretentious way, but no expense has been spared. Every aspect has been tuned to a slightly more luxurious take on the Whistler/Vail property (including being ski in ski out) and that is all consistent with the general ambience of high end French resorts like Megeve. - part of the different experience is the room count. You have similar facilities of a similar scale but less guests, it never feels busy and personalisation is taken up a level, from breakfast to the ski concierge. - the little touches are still there like complimentary hot chocolate and a wine tasting evening just like in Whistler and Vail, but food and beverage is a whole level up (the nod to its history as a Rothschild family property with incredible produce from the Rothschild estate is a lovely touch). - rooms are much smaller but more luxurious and very well appointed. Our prestige room was one of the smallest hotel rooms I have had in years (and the most expensive non-suite/villa) but it didn’t disappoint. Well designed, great bathroom and walk in wardrobe & a bonus terrace with views to die for. - staff were generally excellent. The staff from the Athens hotel and ski room guys were stand out excellent (friendly, efficient and enthusiastic). - we had very good spa treatments and concierge made some great restaurant recommendations (reviewed separately). The one negative (why the one star was lost) was the SPA pool temperature. Many guests were complaining it was too cold and it really was too cold. As stunning as the SPA is there is no separate hot tub or jacuzzi and the pool (indoor/outdoor) was too cold to be relaxing (and certainly too cold to enjoy the outdoor section). If they could increase the temperature by just a couple of degrees (or alternatively add outdoor hot tubs) and (as a bonus) maybe introduce the winter outdoor drinks service done best in Whistler, I’d be rebooking my room for next season already. Nothing beats a glass of champagne in an outdoor hot tub or hot pool after a hard day on the slopes - it is a major part of the Four Season Ski Resort experience in North America and my wife and I really missed it. We had a major room temperature issue (AC broken and 26 degrees in room temp!) with no other rooms available. After a few hiccups the GM resolved the issue very well and fairly. Issues happen occasionally and I felt as unfortunate as it was I left feeling they couldn’t have done much more to right the wrong which is why we continue to stay with the brand where possible all around the world.

The hotel is a luxury hotel in which you feel like at home. The traditional restaurant is really worth the tour, all the dishes are suckle and very well performed and the choice of wines in glass is also very good. In short, a small chichi-free pepite that deserves its 5 stars, we will come back .
