Wow Wow Wow My partner and I have just returned from another wonderful 12-night break at the wonderful beautiful and natural Meedhupparu. We took an Etihad flight from London Heathow this time round with a Seaplane Transfer Firstly, I would like to say that I have been fortunate enough to visited multiple Maldives islands over the past 20 plus year probably totalling in excessive of 40, and each of these islands have their own charm. But Meedhupparu really has taken a piece of my heart, and it feels like home, and returning to family and good friends hence we keep returning. The island is truly stunning and tries to remain as natural to the environment as possible, yes there are some sandbags around the island, but this is to protect the shoreline from corrosion, especially as we enter the monsoon season in May. By speaking to the staff you can be easily educated about why these sea defences are in place and how they benefit the island, in fact by speaking to the staff there is so much you can learn about the Maldives and there native country and we really enjoy speaking to each and everyone of them, everyone was super friendly and helpful and wants everyone to have the best holiday and experience possible. There was also in my opinion always management visible if you did have any issues or concerns and these were quick to be addresses, a big thank you again to Anslam, Manjoi and Asiri, we only had one specific request and that was for additional pillows in the room and they were delivered within 10 mins. We stayed in a Standard Beach Villa (305) near the Albino Bar, the rooms themselves are kept spotless by the room boys and they work so very, very hard in doing so. With the room being cleaned 2 times a day (if needed) we sometimes turned the sign around (to do not disturb) as didn’t always feel we needed this, yes some rooms are a little “tired” but people have to remember they are in a tropical country and the rooms are exposed to all the weather elements and to me this just adds to the uniqueness of Meed and how they are trying to be as natural as they can on the island and link in with nature. If you had different people staying in your house every other week, I am sure you would notice more wear and tear as well as not everyone is as careful or respectful of other people’s properties as others are. Lovely large and super comfortable bed, and outdoor shower (also a covered one for those who prefer this) Beach towels provided and changed daily along with room towels. Good selection of shampoo, conditioner, Body Lotion and Shower Gel so leave yours at home if you want to save on the weight. These are kept topped up also. Take sufficient suncreams etc as these are super expensive on the island and you will probably use more than you think as the sun is super strong even when it is overcasts. The beaches are swept and cleaned constantly and the gardener’s work endlessly to keep these areas clean (difficult at the best of times) We had a co
