I arrived early morning and requested for an early check in. By then a lot of guests were checking out, and I was assigned a room at around 11.30 am which was good, especially when i was just coming from an early morning flight
The breakfast was so so, not so good given the price of the room

A good hotel choice when you arrived by airport train or have a morning flight on the next day. Nice size of the room, best location, friendly security, front office, housekeeping crew.
However the breakfast service was very lame.
Ordered ”sunny side-up”, but never came until 30 minutes when I finished my meal and no longer need it. I was sitting on the table right facing the egg corner. The staff busy chatting each other, and the restaurant leader busy with his mobile phone on the welcoming desk.

We have travelled few times to Medan lately for sime activities and families gathering. Granf Mercure hotel is great.We enjoye staying there as its clean, the room is big, bathroom with bathtub, and breakfast is of wide varieties..We will stay there again should we travel to Medan again. Its highly recommended ..👍

I was staying here for my business trip. The Wifi connection supported me a lot while I was having online meetings. This service apartment is fully furnished. They got a spacious bedroom. The staff service was amazing and very helpful. Located in the center of medan, make it easy to get everywhere for my business trip. Highly recommended serviced apartment in Medan.

actually i didn't expect more than this hotel,and it seems that this hotel didn't expect much either.the position of the hotel is indeed being a central city,but the surrounding environment is indeed surrounded by residents'homes. i stayed in a studio type room 16 which was the biggest type when viewed from the application where i booked,but it turned out that the size of the room was still relatively narrow. the bathroom in the room is also very narrow and the positioning of the curtain for bathing even makes the bathroom narrower. The hallway to the room also has no air conditioning and no lift while my room is on the 3rd floor so it can imagine a mix between tired and hot during going to the room. Another thing I would like to discuss is breakfast in the morning with frozen food, so the hotel provides a freezer containing frozen food bottled and we chose our breakfast directly. After that the clerk will cook it with micowave. this is my first time staying in a hotel with such a breakfast system. i don't know if this kind of system is good or not,but this system makes me feel that this hotel is indeed allocated for “emergency” travelers who want to be practical and fast. Fortunately the reception and the hotel staff including the security guard were so friendly that at least there was one good little thing I could praise from this hotel.

The hotel is located conveniently next to an IndoMart. The rooms are nice with a window looking down on the reception area below. The beds are a little hard. Aircon and hot water works well. There is a full sized fridge but freezer does not work. The breakfast buffet has quite a bit of variety with hot station. I recommend booking the in-hotel massage service.

Reviews some points from other travelers. Choose this hotel for visiting medan town. The room is smelly and hk no change bedsheets either pillow case. No replace amenities toiletries. no tissue roll until i need to get from their HK store room. Water pressure was too slow . Breakfast was so so.. only i 💕 is kelupis.. the trainee was so efficient to clean the table even if you did not finish your meal yet🥴... One of the staff should be recognized sincerely due to i left my purse at restaurants and she kept my purse. Thanks to her! .. concierge needs to change to young people. Don't look at all the guests stranger.

PPendulumI had a lovely stay at the JW Marriott, Medan. I wanted somewhere with good facilities for a few days at the end of my travels where I could relax before making my trip home. The hotel has a great variety of restaurant options, the food was very good. The gym was the best I have seen throughout all hotels I have visited across Asia, professional quality equipment and setup. The rooms were older, but very spacious, comfortable. and well maintained But the thing that made my stay the most enjoyable was the wonderful staff and the service they provided. As a solo, female traveller it is important to me to feel safe, and have a sense of care, friendliness and support. The staff at this hotel went over and above to look after me and help in any way they can, nothing was too much trouble. If I am ever in Medan again I would definitely stay there again.

GGuest UserPositive points: - Comfortable bed - Clean room (except the bathroom) - Smart tv with streaming apps (but you must have your own subscription) - Room size - parquet floor - Location Negative points - Deposit is a MUST (hotel thinks that any guest has malicious intent to steal room items. Please, they’re not even the top of the line). You cannot use this deposit to pay room service (maybe can if you deposit more, like much more). Upon checking out, the front desk will have sb checking the room before refunding your deposit. Geez. - soundproofing is non existent. You can hear ppl next door, the traffic, nearby train, and worst, the noise from the club on top floor). Tried staying in a room facing the pool. It helped to reduce some noise from traffic and train, but does not eliminate it (and they charge more for this room!!) - breakfast is basic - bathroom drainage cannot completely drain water. Take a shower in the evening and you will still see some puddle in the morning. Gross. - wifi is hit and miss

RR2202DJtomhWe only stayed at this hotel because we were attending a wedding reception being held there. I have stayed in more than 150 hotels around the world and for the first time I was required to pay a refundable deposit for a remote control for the A/C. The bathroom is exceedingly tiny. My cat couldn't swing a cat in it. There was no hot water at 5:00pm after we had travelled 5 hours to get there and really needed to freshen up. On our way to dinner, I asked at reception about this and was told that due to ”technical problems” we could only have hot water from 6 - 8AM and from 6 - 8PM. I explained that I did not know about this. The receptionist then showed me a document that I had not seen nor been shown when checking in that explained the situation. I suggested that guests should be informed about this when checking in. Miraculously, the 'technical problems' were resolved the following morning. The staff were not aware of what was happening at the property. We asked if there was live music. The receptionist directed us to two venues on the property, but each was closed. Only the disco was open. The food in the restaurant was mediocre at best. They try to do this barbeque thing at the table, but it fails to deliver. There were plenty of plates, cups, glasses and so on, but only one spoon. There's no light above the cabinet where you make tea or prepare snacks etc. The light above the makeup / grooming mirror was not working. They clearly don't check that everything is working when they clean the rooms. The furniture, carpets, cabinetry, wall coverings etc are very dated. However, the bed was comfortable and the wall covering behind the bed was relatively new. There's no safe in the room. I know that safes are expense and there are always technical problems, but pretty much every property that says it's 4-star has a room safe. The worst part from a safety perspective is that the elevator doors close within a very short time. I injured my arm as the door closed on me within 5 or so seconds and hit me quite hard. A petite granny could have been seriously injured. No-one seems to care. It's an obvious problem and should have been fixed. The restaurant did not stock beer or wine or any other alcoholic beverage. It's a property that management doesn't seem to care about. The staff are helpful, willing, courteous and respectful, but not properly trained. This is a sign that management or ownership doesn't give a toss.

Gguncok97The room's cleanliness is just so so. The minibar is not cold enough (we would like to put food but then found that the surface was watery). The bed sheet might not be so clean because my legs got so itchy after sleeping for one night. Many spots are a bit dusty and for its price the stay was not so worth it compared to the standard 3 stars. Breakfast was just okay, at least it's edible (not much option anyway). The receptionist is well... very flat. Not rude but, expressionless. I know its only 3 stars but they could at least smile. Bathroom's cleanliness could also be improved. The key card is often problematic and hard to use to unlock lift or even room door. Do check that items labeled with price tag are chargeable and its kinda unnoticeable at first. Another thing I'd suggest to the management is to ask staff to wear proper mask (not scuba as it's not effective). Well, at least the overall look of this hotel is not bad.

WWangThis is a special homestay I stayed in Medan, because it is fully self-service, there is no staff, at least I haven't seen any since last night, but this does not affect our peace of mind at all.
The beds in the room are very clean, there are also charging sockets, and the security is also very guaranteed. You have to enter a password to enter the door. The shower and toilet are also very comfortable. There are messages from previous travelers on the wall of the front hall, and you can see that everyone praises it.

But there are a few regrets. All the beds on the first floor are a little wet, so I had to use a dry towel to pad them.
The stairs to the upper bunk are difficult to go up,
and there are no food and beverage stores or places to visit around!
Overall, I am 70% satisfied!

HHorasSamosirMore than 10 years ago I was a very regular visitor of the Dharma Deli Hotel. Having seen from the outside some changes we decided to check out the Grand Inna Hotel, just for the fun of it. Walking in the hotel I noted the De Boer plaquette, which I appreciated. At first glance walking to the Reception nothing changed. A later closer inspection learned that the Karaoke Bar disappeared, the rooms in the back have been demolished and the swimming pool got a new location and the relocation of the restaurant. However, what really changed was the age of the staff, much much younger and everywhere very friendly and service oriented. This very well compensating for some issues which have been reported upon by other reviewers. A few remarks: Positive: The windows in our room could be opened The WIFI was perfect The Steamboat, quality/price wise, turned out much better than expected Location. A few steps away from Merdeka walk Breakfast suggestion: With minimum efforts the Continental Breakfast spread can be much improved. Start with a freshly baked crispy baquette, put in some good cheese and cold cut meat and possibly some beef bacon. Looking at the total package, cost and quality wise, I am happily giving the Grand Inna 5 stars.
