This is a little nugget of gold just outside Slane. The accommodation is great with a choice of rooms or apartments which are immaculately kept… try the apartments… well worth it for the amenities. The bar is really cool with some nice historical items around the place and the food they serve is simple but top notch… the steak and burgers are proper tasty. The owners and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Very well priced for accommodation and food, and they pull a great pint. This is our second visit and will definitely be back again. Give them call or drop a mail to get yourself sorted.

Was out for food and waiter served us straight away , lovely chap , during our food we noticed old barman and young waitress drinking and flirting. While other staff worked, I thought it was very unprofessional ! Wouldn’t usually bother me but food is so nice and the lad who served us was great. Not like the carry on with the manager!

this pub is situated in a fantastic area apart from the fact it is in county meath. i am a local man myself and do enjoy taking the out trip down the road to this BUT! i am loosing interest for this place due to the actions of the staff towards each other. could hear the chef roaring abuse at the bar staff. staff afraid to ask for peppercorn sauce even tho it’s on the menu. the bar man and woman were extremely interested in each other god knows what happens when nobody is there. the people at the bar were also very strange, there was a man drinking pint bottles of guinness looking at girls up and down. i asked him why he drinks bottles and he answered “it good for the rod” whatever that means. i ordered chicken curry once and it came out blue i was on the toilet for 2-3 working days after it. all and all the drink is good and the crack is mighty but the sexual tension in this place is like nothing i’ve experienced before.

This was quite possibly the worst place I have ever stayed in in my whole life. It does not even deserve 1 star. The smell of urine as we walked in to the hallway was eye watering. Our room was very basic. The sheets and pillow cases were dirty and the smell of swage in the bathroom was awful. Dirty towels that I would not wash the floor with, let alone leave for guests to fry themselves with. There was no hot water when my husband tried to have a shower. The place was so dirty that I was afraid to even leave my suitcase on the floor for fear of contamination. I slept on top of the bed clothes as I could not bring myself to sleep in the actual bed. My husband discoved whilst in the shower that the plug hole had never evrr been cleaned by the looks of things. Hence the smell. I have attached a photo. This place was actually a health hazard so we left well bfore breakfast as there was no way I was going to eat in the place. It ruined our whole night.

Stayed here for 3 nights while attending a family wedding nearby. Warm friendly welcome, clean comfortable room. Huge communal living room, kitchen and dining area. Very relaxed atmosphere here. Had food on our first evening and a few drinks, tasty and good value for money. Sunday lunch was also really nice and again good value for money. I would absolutely return here again if I was in the area.

Great rural pub - with fantastic food. Really, really tasty ! I stayed in the house next door, there are a few rooms, but I had a double room with ensuite bathroom. Really comfy bed and great shower ! Wifi was a bit slow - and only one bar of phone reception ... but neither are the fault of the pub - it's just the way it is in rural Ireland ! If you are going to get 'off the beaten track' don't expect city level utilities !! Cereal provided for breakfast. There was coffee - but might need to ask for a tea bag ? I couldn't find one ! They might have been there, I was really tired and not 'fully functioning' !!! You can use the kitchen in the house .. but the food is so good at the pub next door just treat yourself !
