SpringHill Suites McAllen Convention Center

Everything was great about the place, the facilities, the room, everything clean, the breakfast great. The only issue was at the check in with the lady at the front desk. We paid the reservation in advance through the ******* web, but when we arrived, she said we had to make a deposit, but I check on the web and I couldnt find this info, neither in the terms and condition or any other place said that we have to make that deposit. So she tried several times to do that but the sistem wasnt working, she tried at least 5 times with my credit card to do it, it said approved on the machine and the computer but she said that the system didnt register the paymant, meanwhie, i had my son very tired for the trip and he was running and crying in the place, she said we have to grab them and controle him because he was running in front of other customers, but that was because we stay there for more than 10 minutes because of her fault or her system i dont know, she put us in that situation.

The rooms were clean, no issues with parking, easy to find, and a few dining options nearby.

I had two rooms, the one in the 4th floor was not so good, the air conditioner didnt work, there was a cockroach between the sheets in the midle of the night, and the bed was not comfy, it looks like a foam bed

Great facility and staff but I can’t stay again. The facility was clean and well kept and comfortable. The staff was helpful as well. The only thing I take issue with was the 51% sign on the door. I know it might seem silly but that signage is supposed to be reserved for businesses that derive more than 50% of their business from the sale of alcohol and there is no way in hell that place serves that much alcohol. For those of us who carry, it’s a concern. I won’t stay again where I can’t legally carry.
