Le Jardin de Mazan

A fantastic place to stay. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. It is a beautiful building with great gardens to relax in or eat breakfast. The food was very good for breakfast and the homemade dinner was amazing with all food sourced locally. A surreal location with Mont Ventoux nearby.

Le Jardin de Mazan was fantastic. The owners, who work the large home, Agnes and Aric (sp?) are extremely nice and welcoming. The property is awesome. It takes a minute to find through the narrow streets so take your time. However, once you walk in, the home and grounds are really expansive. The rooms are really large as well as the bathrooms. We toured all the rooms, since there were no other guests coming in that day, and each room is great. Breakfast is served in the large flower garden each morning. You hear all the church bells and birds while enjoying a big, freshly cooked breakfast. The room we stayed in was connected to a reading room and a pool table. It was so cool. I can't say enough about Le Jardin. They close in October but book for next year. The dining recommendations and location is perfect. You'll be super happy you stayed here. Lastly, Aric knows the area well for cyclists and touring so he will point you in the right direction! Enjoy....

We stayed here recently as we had a family wedding nearby . Choose hotel from the pictures on their website and I have to say it’s even prettier in real life . A beautifully restored French building full of character, history and charm. The garden is equally as pretty . A peaceful place to sit with a glass of wine. Eric and Agnes go above and beyond any other host we have stayed with. If he cannot arrange a taxi he will take you personally if he’s able to. Breakfast is beautifully presented full of fresh or homemade produce with a varied selection . You can help yourselves to refreshments you just record what you consume on a sheet against your room number . There is a fridge in the library if you do not finish your bottle . Bedrooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. Great nights sleep. A place not to be missed if you want to stay in the area . Thank you both

Such a lovely place to stay. You will need a small car to go through the narrow gate into the old town of Mazan but Eric and Agnes will make sure you have a place to park. They are superb hosts who really look after their guests and pay attention to all the details. We loved our large room off the Library and played snooker/pool in the evenings. We adored the relaxing garden with a gloriously warm swimming pool. I was straight in to that within an hour of arrival and we used it every day of our May stay. Dinner was cooked by Eric on our first day and was delicious, as was the breakfast served by Agnes. Try Eric's special spiced scrambled eggs. All items were seasonal and local and we loved the way it was varied each morning. The other nights we ate in the town, booked by Agnes and Eric on their recommendations. You will not see many tourists here and it is on the edge of such a great wine area. A base for Gordes, the "Lavender route", Mt Ventoux, the wines of the Vaucluse and the edges of the Luberon. Perfect for walkers, cyclists and anyone else who loves La Belle France. Ask Agnes to tell you the story of the house and garden. Merci beaucoup, Agnes et Eric from Una and David.

I cannot adequately express how happy I was to stay at Le Jardin. This hotel is a jewel in a lovely, quiet village. Eric and Agnes are warm and generous hosts which, after a long journey from New York, means so much. The gardens, reception room, and library are beautiful. My room faced the mountain and was large and very comfortable, as was the bathroom (with excellent shower). I had to take a picture of the breakfast because it was quite literally the breakfast of my dreams: good coffee, warm milk, fresh bread and croissant, and homemade jam. It’s rare to find a place so good on so many levels, from the welcome on arrival to the farewell at the end. A lovely old house, sympathetically restored with a lovely room and the best breakfast you will ever have. The hosts are charming and genuinely friendly, and have an extensive knowledge of the locality. If I could wave my magic wand, I’d ask them to re-consider their ban on accepting food in rooms and garden - Mazan is a small village with limited restaurants, and lunch facilities are very limited, so the ability to bring home a baguette would be welcome. Also: if you have accessibility issues check before booking, there’s no lift and rooms at the top of the house require climbing a steep and difficult spiral staircase. That is not to detract from what is a brilliant place to stay, and just about the best place we’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting.
