Delphi Lodge

Unfortunately it did not live up to its prior reputation on the accommodation and dining front. Fishing management and the team were awesome and have a wealth of experience not always found these days. However dinnner and breakfast taken over by large non fishing groups , so tough to get out a reasonable time, as no early fisherman’s breakfast served,

I want to live there! Everything was perfect. Hosts couldn't have been nicer.food is sublime. Great tea! I would book for dinner! Fishing superb. The best place to stay in Connemara. Walks, lake view room, amazing bath, reading nooks, swell bar.

This is a very special place, beyond what we expected. What we loved: the lovely old lodge, cosy library and fire to read by on a rainy afternoon, the wonderful "Big Table" dinners with all the guests that made for memorable conversations, the superb food nicely served, the information from and kindness of all the staff -- and most of all, the location! It stands beside a lough and streams, and is surrounded by wild hills and winding roads. We explored the coast, dramatic in the rainy weather, waterfalls, and a nearby sheep farm, meeting a shepherd working his dogs. We could have spent many more days there!

Had a fabulous stay in this beautiful lodge, really peaceful and gorgeous views all around! Philip and all the staff welcomed us from the beginning and really looked after us througout. The food and wine is exceptional and dining at the big table with other guests was a great experience, finished off nicely with a drink in the lounge by the fire. Delphi lodge is a really unique experience and highly recommended for a peaceful escape!

From the minute we entered this gorgeous place, and were greeted by Mary, we felt like we were visiting with family. Our room was sumptuous, the food was great and the staff unfailingly charming, helpful and professional. My husband was a little worried about the "communal dining" at dinner, but that turned out to be one of our favorite things during our trip to Ireland. I actually think that it might have been best to have Delphi Lodge be our last hotel during our 12 day trip, since the other 2, though perfectly nice, couldn't hope to measure up to the hospitality at Delphi Lodge. If we ever get back to Ireland, we will most assuredly return to Delphi - and will encourage any friends/relatives to stay there if in the Connemara region.

Delphi Lodge is a gem in the stirring landscape of Connemara. From the moment Philip greeted us at the front door, we were made welcome and comfortable. The behind-the-scenes running of Delphi Lodge is surely smooth and faultless. For guest, everything works; everyone smiles; and the food and drinks are simply outstanding. Gathering for dinner in the evening around the long dining table was an experience to be savoured, as we compared convivial notes with other guests, drawn from near and far. (Geraldine took great care of us.) A pre-breakfast swim with new friends in the lough was bracing: a perfect preparation for a day exploring Connemara. We left determined to return. On a practical note, we felt that the sheer quality of the Delphi Lodge experience was excellent value for money.
