This hotel could be a lot better with a few changes. When we arrived we were given a welcome drink a nice spiced rum, the receptionist was a bit stern and not particularly helpful. I asked about the All inclusive what was / wasn't included and any restrictions. All I was told was everything gets added to your room then the A.I bits is taken off. So to now answer my own question, everything apart from the top shelf spirits i.e grey goose vodka and a brandy, are included, any cocktail you want even if its not on the menu is included and also any extra bits at lunch i.e cheese on burgers etc is also included in the A.I. The hotel I found really well maintained, gardens and the rooms were cleaned every day and were spotless. my main grip is that the pool area is tidied at the end of the day so dirty glasses etc are left and tidied up by the pool guy in the morning, so when your having breakfast you can see left over drinks etc by the pool. it would take a few minutes every evening to tidy the area up. The staff were hit and miss, some staff were very rude and seemed annoyed if you asked for a drink even though they were serving at the bar, or in the restaurant when they took your order were just miserable which made my wife feel very uncomfortable. other members like Karene on reception and Rashidi were exemplary, always smiling and happy to help or serve. The service was a bit disappointing as well, breakfast was never open at 7:30 it was always 10 to 15 minutes late and even then a lot of stuff wasn't put out and had to be requested, such as juices, bread for toast, yoghurts and sauces. egg station was also very slow with only 1 server and 2 rings. lunch and dinner were slow and any drinks ordered at the table never arrived, we were there 12 days and I think twice our drinks arrived, all other times after getting fed up or our food had arrived I had to go to the bar for drinks. The 2nd to last day I overheard the couple in front having breakfast explained to them, this never happened to us, to my surprise we could order poached eggs for breakfast we just had to ask the server, this was the same for the BBQ night, which was held in the main restaurant, we only found out by chance that extra meats additional to what was on the buffet could be ordered with the servers, this was after we had already gotten our food. Simple communication lacks. The pool bar was rarely staffed so you had to go up to the main bar which also wasn't staffed very well, often neither bar was staffed for long periods of time. i've never experienced anything like this, we even had to ask at reception for drinks as had been waiting over half an hour with neither bar staffed, we also ended up buying some beer at the local shop ( not great for an all inclusive hotel) as the hotel ran out several times, this was also the case just after the bar opened at 10am, also ran out of vodka and soft drinks a couple of times. On a positive, the food was always of excellent quality al

We only used the restaurant on our Island tour. Twice now, we pre-book our meals ..still have to wait 20 minutes. When you only have 45 /50 minutes to dine its a rush. food is ok. shame the staff are not more friendly , made you feel special, remembered when you ask for pepper sauce to bring it ..then they would get a tip and a 4/5 review !

Just spent a very relaxing holiday at the sugar cane club. The rooms were clean but pool bar area was not. Staff were generally friendly but let down by one or two. Food was good but service at times very slow.. especially when waiting for drinks that sometimes didn’t arrive at all. Hotel was a bit off the beaten track but there was a shuttle to local beach and town. However I did enjoy but with some tweaks here and there could be better.

Booked this with my wife as part of our 30th wedding anniversary celebrations, and we loved it, however when we first arrived we were totally underwhelmed. Just the general decor, a tourist tax that we were unaware of, the offer of "complementary drink" even though we had booked as all inclusive, and the fact that there was a small problem with our room and had to be put in the room next door temporarily. We were also surprised just how remote the hotel was, even though we knew that it was off the beaten track. That said, the staff from the head manager to the cleaners were incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome and the week we had there was tremendous. The food there was absolutely fantastic. We were unlucky that we were unable to have the barbecue nights by the pool, but there's nothing we could do about the weather. The service at meal times was quite mixed. Sometimes you could be waiting ages for a drink from the bar with your meal, but I put that down to the culture there more than anything, nobody ever seems to be in a rush. My only real complaint with the place was the poolside bar. There was only one day when it was run well throughout the day when Rashidi was working, but I believe they had an issue with staffing problems due to sickness, so perhaps it was a one off. Whilst a tad dated, the rooms were kept spotlessly clean every day, and we were provided with fresh towels every other day. The shuttle but into the town or beach was great, and we were sorry that we only made real use of that at the back end of our week. Overall it was wonderful, the staff are that friendly that it makes you feel bad about having to say anything negative about the occasional lackadaisical service, but I just feel it's worth pointing out. Speaking to fellow guests there are so many return visitors of 18-25 years, which I suppose speaks volumes, and I would definitely return myself. Thank you, it was a wonderful holiday.

The food was ok but when we asked for the desert menu we had to wait 20 minutes before we got one then another 10 before we could order was taken finally 15 minutes later our cheesecake and kids ice-cream had still not arrived and our driver was ready to leave. Very bad service.

Very far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. Peaceful, pleasant and the staff were kind and courteous. I would definitely stay there again. The food at the restaurant was delicious you don't even have to leave to eat if you don't want. Each meal was great, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This was my 5th time at Sugar Cane Club and it did not disappoint, As a repeat visitor I was welcomed ‘ home ‘by the wonderful staff. As ever, the food was good, and my Ocean - view room clean and comfortable On my second week the poolside bar opened and morning coffee and afternoon tea was served in the poolside lounge. I used the courtesy bus to visit Speightstown and the local beaches a few times and had wonderful swims in the oceans. I would like to thank every one of the staff who made my holiday so enjoyable- from the reception staff, maintenance, gardeners, cleaners and restaurant staff and chefs - you a Great Team!

I feel compelled to write this review to emphasize the importance of having a well-trained and dedicated team at your establishment. Initially, I considered detailing everything that went wrong, but that would not do justice to the individuals who worked diligently and provided excellent service. Instead, I will highlight four key areas where improvements are necessary to assist management in refining their training processes for future guests. 1. **Booking Process:** The booking process was far from seamless. I felt as though I had to plead with the reservations team to assist with my request. When I called, I asked if the hotel would be open in September, knowing that many hotels close for renovations during that time. The response I received was rude, and the call was disconnected. I then attempted to book through the website portal, but after receiving one email acknowledging my request, there was no further response to my correction. Ultimately, I had to drive to the hotel to complete the booking and pay the deposit. (It’s important to note that I chose this hotel because my father honeymooned here and recommended it for our anniversary. Without his recommendation, I would not have proceeded after this initial experience.) 2. **Check-In:** Upon arrival, I had to redo the entire booking form because the system had changed to an electronic one, This was frustrating, especially after the effort I had already made to secure the booking in person. 3. **Spa Experience:** My father highly recommended the spa, particularly the steam room and spa pool, which he said we could access as hotel guests. While having my nails done, I mentioned this to the therapist, who said she would look into it. However, when I reminded her after the treatment, she made a call and informed me that they were fully booked for the following day and closed after that. This came across more as an excuse than a genuine reason, leaving us unable to enjoy the facilities. 4. **Dietary Accommodations:** My husband is vegan, and I am lactose intolerant—both of which were noted during the booking and again when our reservation was redone. Despite completing a special dietary request form, our preferences were not communicated to the chef. As a result, my husband was served a "vegan" pizza with cheese, and I became ill. The following day, his pasta also contained cream and cheese. By this point, I was extremely frustrated. Thankfully, our amazing waiter, Ryan, spoke to the kitchen on our behalf and resolved the issue. That evening, Chef Rodney prepared a buffet with an abundance of vegan options and was incredibly kind, sharing credit with his kitchen team. This level of care was greatly appreciated. Despite the rocky start, there were several team members who truly made a difference in our stay. Waiter Ryan, Chef Rodney, and mixologist Rasheed were exceptional. Rasheed, in particular, was always attentive and cheerful, offering drinks and refills even while he was busy. H
