Great place to stay when visiting Mt Field
This was a great stay between Strahan and Hobart and close to the Mt Field National Park, where we did Russell and Horseshoe falls.
The accomodation was clean and very comfortable. It was great to look over the fields where the alpacas lived to the mountains.
The accommodation had everything we needed to be comfortable and we were instructed on what was available food wise before we came, as there are not many options once you get to Maydena.
Highly recommend this place to stay.

Accommodation was very comfortable and amenities were very good. Lovely views and some alpacas in the nearby paddocks. Our host Jo was wonderful. Not only very welcoming but went to the trouble of texting us after we checked out the following day about weather conditions and power outages, etc. in the area we were travelling to. Her advice was very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Lovely clean cabins. Easy to find. The bed was so comfortable! Lovely host and very informative about the alpacas. They are very quiet and I walked around with them. Amazing mountain views. I could even see some snow on top of one of the mountains.

Recently I had occasion to visit a friend who was staying here and to my horror found that the poor alpacas had not a blade of grass in their paddock while the neighbouring paddock was flush with feed. It appears that the owners of this business have deliberately mowed the pasture into non existence so that the alpacas have to come to the cabins to be fed. There they get hand fed and paraded around like trained monkeys. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against the whole farm-stay thing but this is not a farm and these are not farmers and using starvation as a training tool for animals is just plain wrong.
