The Reception and staff were very pleasant and always accommodating. Rooms were neat and tidy. Unfortunately we All got food poisoning and later found out that many other people also suffered food Poisoning at the same time as us and in groups before us as well. Could be the Water they sell you or the juice they serve or the lack of hygiene from the kitchens. Suggest to avoid all foods and drinks here. Even the welcome drinks Totally ruined our trip. We were horribly sick for the entire trip and bed ridden. What a huge waste of money. The Hotel is aware of the issue and took no positive steps. Booking agent aware as well and have done absolutely nothing. Money is more important than a Guest being poisoned and possibly dying.

We were a group of 10 teaching staff from a Special Education Needs establishment (Allee Brilliant SENRDC) who checked in on Friday, the 3rd of November 2023, for an overnight stay, to celebrate our last school day, and it had been a delightful experience. First, the staff were consistently cordial, and they even accommodated our request to switch rooms, which showcase their commitment to guest satisfaction. Then, the food, particularly the breakfast, had largely exceeded our expectations, not only in terms of quality but also quantity, especially in cognizance of the price we had paid. Last, while the cleanliness of the premises was commendable, we only wish that this neatness could had been extended to the pool, which could have eventuated into enhancing our overall experience. All in all, our overnight stay at La Margarita was a surprisingly pleasant one (given our budget), characterized by delicious (and bountiful) dining, cleanliness, and a remarkably amiable staff, and we look forward to returning for another stay in the future - probably a weekend (as per the advice we have been given by your staff). So, I definitely recommend particularly if you're travelling with your family and friends.

Disgustingly noisy place. Neighbouring with some kind of workshop, where they make noise with hammer beating the metal and circular saw all day long since 6:55, no chance to relax. Noise from the traffic is very loud and annoying, too. And during the night, dogs from the neighbourhood bark and woke us up every night. The birds screaming right above your head were in fact the less anoying thing. Once day they also did some drilling in the hotel itself, right above my head. Maybe if you are willing to wear ear pods or headphones day & night? I'm sorry, but this accomodation was a real nightmare without a moment of silence.

Didn't look anything like the photos since visiting the photos seemed photoshopped. Picture of the beach is of another beach, the beach is rocky and 10 minutes walking distance. The nearest good beach is a 20 minute bus ride. Overall would not recommend staying here

First of all...what you see on the pictures is not the same....very poor quality on the services...one person running the reception and bar area and one waiter serving the food for all meals who has a bad attitude and zero skills in the line of work employed to do...waiting for long periods to have your meal served while busy serving others drinks from bar outside...the rooms are not as what is shown on images instead you get a bachelor like room with a double bed no table or chairs to sit on. Even to clean the room we managed to fix our schedule to be out the room before 10h in the morning so that they can clean it but even this we arrived in the room at 15h15 and was still the same as we left it with the explanation that they were thinking we left the hotel like our last day which was not,the whole day from 10 o'clock till 15h 15 they didn't even check if we here or not.

Very nice with friendly and helpful staff. But note that unless you have transport, it's a bit in the middle of nowhere, so can't really walk to a beach and absolutely no restaurants nearby, so ate at the hotel every night and retired early. 🤔

Small 2* hotel with a family atmosphere; the rooms are correct, well equipped (wifi, tv, safe, fridge, air conditioning), the bathroom could do with a refresh in the shower but everything is functional. The typical local cuisine is very good although the choice of dishes is sometimes limited. The staff, including the manager, are very available and friendly. The swimming pool is small but sufficient to cool off after the beach, a beach which is close but very rocky (bring swimming shoes) so do not expect a long beach of fine sand. The bus stops in front of the hotel but the times are not easy (every 1h15 to go to Grand Baie). The big downside of this hotel is the very noisy environment because on the side of the main road (trucks, motorbikes and backfiring cars), plus many stray dogs barking at all hours = peace and quiet are not appropriate. Overall, this hotel will appeal to small budget "backpacker guides" but will disappoint regulars of 4* hotels (you can't see it both ways). This establishment is located in a typically Mauritian context and not in a tourist spot which would not be the reality of the inhabitants of this Island; which allows more direct contact with the population. A tip of the hat for the “Indian” evening during which the women are dressed in saris and the meal served on a sheet without cutlery: fun and exotic.

Extremely disappointed with the accommodation! Cockroaches in the bathroom (and staff who directly give us the anti-cockroach spray in “get over it”) A small swimming pool that is not always cleaned Disappearances of our personal belongings during our absence (packets of cigarettes, perfumes, etc.). .) and little consideration from the manager to resolve the problem or at least make a commercial gesture Very similar meals (always identical starters / only one choice of dessert per meal). Cold chain not necessarily respected. Strangely we all got sick shortly after arriving at the hotel... I don't recommend it at all!
