Very satisfied with both the service and the food.
However, there were a lot of flies in the room, and the refrigerator was noisy.

Staying here was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The view from our bedroom was absolutely stunning - I miss it already. The giant windows made for such a special place experience. If you can afford the river facing rooms, it is an absolute must. The view of the stars at night, especially through the provided binoculars, was breathtaking.
The onsen is really lovely too, so definitely worth a visit.
Finally, the food - wow! We didn’t expect to have such fine quality dining, with wonderful service. It was definitely some of the best food we ate on our entire trip (especially the beef). Delicious!

I give this hotel an "Excellent" simply because we loved it. If you are in Kamikochi and you stay here I hope you love it too. I recommend that you get off the bus at the Imperial Hotel and walk to the hotel from there. It is much closer than the main bus station. The hotel is right in front of the river and is surrounded by nature. It is not a high traffic tourist spot. Amazing place. The day we arrive it was raining and cold. The hotel offer ponchos, umbrellas, etc...hot drinks and snacks in the lounge almost all day. We arrive at about 10:00 to drop our bags and did a pre check-in (check in time was 14:00), but we came back at 13:00 since it was cold and raining and my wife and 8 year old did not want to walk anymore. However our room was ready so we settled in and loved it. The room was a corner so it was bright, and we had a view of the river and a tree with birds in it. Great. The onsen opened at 15:00 and felt great. It has an inside and outside bath. Not big but just felt perfect. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Dinner and breakfast buffet were just great. My daughter has allergies and her food was perfect. The service was always friendly and excellent. Night time stars were amazing. Kamikochi is beautiful. Great hotel in Kamikochi.

I stayed with my wife in the premium theater room on the 4th floor. Unfortunately, the weather was bad from the afternoon, so I entered Kamikochi early in the morning and took a walk. I checked in first thing in the afternoon. Through the overwhelmingly open windows, I could see the Azusa River and the snow-capped Mt. It was so spectacular. In addition, there are binoculars in the room, and I was able to spend a relaxing time watching the birds flying around the trees. For dinner, I asked for a premium dinner. It was delicious and I was satisfied. The breakfast buffet was also delicious.

I parked my car in the Akandana parking lot, and the elderly couple transferred to the shuttle bus and headed out. We got off at Taishoike bus stop and arrived at the hotel after about an hour enjoying the nature of Kamikochi. I decided to make a reservation for the hot spring bath. Choose a Japanese-style room! The cleaning was perfect, and the sheets on the futon were dry and comfortable. Speaking of greed, a unit bath is...😞. Dinner was a French course meal that was very delicious. The breakfast buffet was also good with a wide variety. I also enjoyed the service provided by the staff who took care of my meals and saw me off. I will visit again.

I was very happy to be able to spend comfortably for 2 nights and 3 days. The staff were kind enough to help me, and the facilities were easy to use, so I thought it was a good resort hotel. In particular, I enjoyed the refined French cuisine on the first day and the Japanese-style French cuisine on the second day, both of which I never got tired of.
