Traditional Japanese inn, rich breakfast and dinner, different for two days. The enthusiastic and kind old boss provided services beyond expectations. There is a pick-up service from the hot spring and the station.

Fabulous night with our grown up daughter. Amazing food lovingly prepared, a good and large traditional room, and a very nice onsen. Very friendly and hospitable hosts. The outdoor onsen was u/s and the old gardens need attention but the view of the garden from both bedroom and breakfast room was very nice. High points would be both meals and the lovely onsen. Dinner was served at a table in our room. What a meal! Breakfast was also excellent. Room was lovely, and we were well looked after.

In short, it was ``an inn that was completely run by part-time student resort workers, with no concept of developing employees.'' Even though it's called Kappo, the food content is surprising. I'm sure there would be at least one delicious food in a regular hostel, but... there were so many insects flying around in the room that it felt disgusting. On the other hand, the construction of the accommodation is not bad. However, is it a good idea to leave a large amount of bulky garbage at the entrance and hide it with a screen? Rather than staying at a ryokan, it felt more like staying at an ordinary family in the countryside...although the price was definitely that of a ryokan.

The garden is wonderful, and the appearance of the inn is also good, so I had high expectations. The air conditioner and shoji frames in the room were dusty, the equipment in the room suddenly broke down, the breakfast venue was extremely cold, the open-air bath was extremely warm, and even the indoor bath was warm when I entered in the morning. The taste of the food is normal for a kappo ryokan. It's a shame because I thought it would be a good inn with the minimum facilities and clean cleaning. No repeats.
