Very helpful staff. My special thanks to Miss Amy Tsang, the staff in the front office who offer me a great assistance. But the hot spring bath is not accessible by lift. We need to go down the deep stairs to use it.

Great view good breakfeast

The hotel is a very retro and classic hot spring hotel with a clean environment and good and comfortable service. It is a certain distance from JR and Ichibata tram stations, and it takes about 15 minutes to walk, but it is right by the river, so it is very quiet and beautiful. The breakfast is Japanese style, with rich dishes, and the view seats can see the bridge and the lake in the distance. Overall, it represents the temperament of Matsue very well, praise

There is a Chinese-speaking girl at the hotel counter who is very kind! On the second night of our stay, we got back to the hotel very late, and the only restaurants nearby were izakayas! We don't speak Japanese and can't communicate. My sister took the initiative to take us in to translate and order food, which was really touching! But she said that she would be working in exchange for accommodation until March next year and she would go home! The grandma at breakfast was also very kind and kept asking if I wanted more rice and soup! Although the price is high, the quality is very good!

This Ryokan is just great, so glad we stayed here. First colloquial English is spoken by the owners, and they willing answer email questions in advance. They also accept luggage forwarded by Yamato transport. You can book direct if you want. Second, the location is excellent, you can walk to most major sights in Matsue in 15 mins or less. The pedestrian shopping street starts only 2 blocks away and there are lots of restaurants nearby. If you get a room with a view of the river and the lake, you wan't regret it, very beautiful. In terms of food , this Ryokan is flexible and will serve you a western breakfast with a few Japanese sides, rather than a full Japanese style breakfast if you must request this in advance. We had an excellent dinner of local specialties our last night , a delicious end to our stay in Japan. This Ryokan is quite small, so if your stay coincides with some special happening in Matsue like the Warrior Parade, book far in advance. Our room was large, extremely comfortable, well designed, and we were vey happy with it. If you can afford one of the 3 rooms with its own volcanic springs hot tub it's worth it. However the steam baths in the basement were clean, and comfortable. we went every day. The only problem this hotel has is also a city wide problem, there are not enough taxis, especially during rush hour. However, the public bus stop is only 1/2 a block away to take you to the train station.
