Went for an early Christmas meal as we were both busy otherwise, I had the pork steaks and my partner had the steak, both were cooked to perfection and tasted great, another great thing about this place is that you still get homemade chips not frozen, will definitely be returning pretty soon.

I have never been to such a welcoming place, from staff, to patrons, young and old, locals and visitors.. everyone was extremely friendly. We had a lovely , clean and comfortable room and enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant with excellent service. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I had high hopes for our weekend away and upon arrival the place looked quite charming.however once inside we were disappointed with a small, dark room which smelt of damp and had a dirty en-suite bathroom. The eating area was totally without atmosphere with only a few scornful locals at the bar. Food was very expensive and was low quality microwaved fair slopped out on a plate. I’m not sure how people can get it so wrong, but this place certainly did.

Stayed here for two nights at Easter. Nice quiet location near to Matlock, good sized car park with easy access. We stayed in room 2. Room was adequate and nicely presented, we slept well after being out all day, huge shower but the basin and toilet are a little close/cramped but not complaining. Food is excellent with a good breakfast included in our price. Restaurant area is pleasant and has good easy menu, I had Haddock and chips and my partner had Steak pie with mash, both were freshly prepared, good portions and tasted excellent. Good choice of wine and beers although I drank the cider. Locals use the outside drinking area as there is a large walled playing area across the road where children can play safely. All in all the Inn is a good choice with local attractions close by. Good value for money and will definitely be staying again soon.

Spent an enjoyable night here. A very decent guest pint and friendly staff. A good night's sleep in a comfortable bed. The breakfast was good. I'm happy to recommend it. The information says that there is no parking, but they do have a car park.

We arrived to a very warm welcome. The beer and food were excellent. Andy knows how to keep a good pint for sure. I recommend the local Pedigree. Our kids and dog were made a big fuss off by Andy and Kate (who run the place and ARE NOT the owners who appear to have received the previous unpleasant comments so don’t be deterred ) nothing was too much trouble for them and the banter and atmosphere they created was so warm and friendly my only discrepancy would be to get more staff as these two coped remarkable well and delivered the best customer service they could possible give, given the amount of people and size of the place they were seriously rushed off the feet . It was packed full of locals who seemingly seem to adore this friendly couple and new visitors are also treated with the same warmth and friendliness. I would highly recommend and will return. Rib of beef and the pannacotta was To die for, OUTSTANDING!!!!
