The recent refurbishment has been done really well, keeping the original charm while adding a fresh, modern look. The tasting menu was amazing, with delicious flavors in every dish. The wine pairing was spot on and made the meal even better. A big thank you to James for his excellent service—he was friendly, professional, and made the evening special. Highly recommend!

It was a real treat to return to the Peacock. This was our first visit since the new ownership and we were taking friends for a special occasion. We had the same warm welcome as always and it was great to see all the staff members who make the Peacock experience so special. The food was absolutely fantastic, between us we had the lamb, venison and duck - all fantastic. We then all had a dessert - again, delicious. Really great flavours. All in all, a perfect lunch with exceptional service in a wonderful setting 😍

We went for lunch to celebrate my birthday. The experience from beginning to end was exquisite. We started with the most delightful cocktails whilst relaxing in the lounge and perusing the menu. We had nibbles that were freshly cooked and beautifully crafted, a treat on their own! 4 of us opted for Halibut and one venison. Wow! Just wow! The plates went back to the kitchen with not a speck left! We finished with coffee in the beautifully manicured garden by the river. I can’t finish without mentioning the staff, we were looked after like we were the only customers there, the service was impeccable! What a joy, a birthday I won’t forget in a hurry! ❤️❤️❤️

We've been here several times previously - to stay over (which was excellent) and for lunch in the restaurant. This time we ate in the very atmospheric bar. Overall, an enjoyable experience. The staff are always highly attentive, the food is very good, although a touch on the pricey side, for example coffee is £9.50, so this is special occasion territory.

Where do we start? Had lunch today and couldn’t fault anything. From the attentive yet discreet staff to the sublime food, everything was exceptional. We chose to have the canapés, which were amazing and managed to pack so much flavour into each one. Followed by the onion consommé and goats cheese curd. We both had duck followed by the chocolate, blood orange and prune and baked Mauritian sugars tart. Each course was superb and expertly served. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon

Delightful Sunday Lunch. Salmon starter delicious. Roast beef and all the trimmings cooked to perfection. Apple crumble for desert absolutely divine. Rounded out with a bottle of wine and home-made bread. Service and atmosphere is fabulous. Will definitely be back.

Have waited a long time to experience Sunday lunch at the Peacock as it has not been an offering for a number of years. 3 course lunch with a varied choice of options including vegan and gluten free. All the starters were accompanied with home made sour dough bread and home made butter. My chicken liver parfait was very tasty and light in texture with brioche bread. Roast beef (lovely and pink for me) with Yorkshire pudding and roasted veggies were all excellent and a good portion size. The desert selections were sumptuous with the chocolate rum and raisin outstanding in presentation and flavours. The service given by the staff was attentive and very efficient. The wait has been worth it and look forward to future visits especially in the summer with a beautiful outside area for outside dining and drinks

What a lovely meal! I've always avoided fine dining thinking I wouldn't like the food or it would be too expensive and this was the complete opposite. Lovely food, staff were so welcoming. Joel and Valentine took great care of us and provided great recommendations on wine and food. Beautifully decorated and a great place to go for a special occasion.
