A nice boutique hotel with friendly staff at a good location with restaurants nearby. We booked two rooms - the room on 2nd floor is good but the one on ground floor smells a bit of mould. Perhaps because it’s inside a cave. Breakfast choice is limited with fruits, toast with tomatoes, and cakes. You can order boiled or scrambled eggs as this is the only hot food they serve. We are fine with that but more as fyi.

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location if you want to be right in the Sassi di Matera. Great restaurants and shops nearby, staff were all very friendly.

I would highly recommend staying here and when I come back to Matera this is where I’ll stay. The staff was extremely kind, helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The room was clean and had such character. The breakfast was above and beyond amazing!

Wonderful experience
Absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is made up of several cave-houses, which gives you a very unique experience.
Our room was very spacious, with a sitting area separate from the bedroom. Another sitting area outside your door on the courtyard is a great place to enjoy a night-cap.
Matera has to be seen at night to be appreciated, and the Corte San Pietro hotel is right in the middle of it, providing an excellent experience.

Breakfast room with a live piano player every morning excellent food and Angela was a gracious hostess in the breakfast room. Front desk staff couldn’t have been more attentive. Lovely hotel in a perfect location.
