Amaloh Boutique Resort

We had a deeply frustrating experience at this venue. We had arranged a photoshoot, but upon arrival, we found the location cluttered with tables set up for a wedding event—something we were never informed about. When we requested to have the tables moved, the staff rudely insisted that it was our problem to deal with. The manager was shockingly unprofessional, berating us for even asking. They outright told us that the event taking place was more important than our photoshoot and suggested we find another location, causing us to lose over 30 precious minutes. Pressed for time, we had no option but to continue the shoot under their unreasonable conditions. The staff continued to be aggressive, and when I mentioned writing a negative review, they couldn’t have cared less, dismissively telling us to do whatever we wanted. If you're considering this place, think twice. Their disregard for customer satisfaction and outright rude behavior can easily derail your plans.

A lovely boutique hotel in a quiet lush tropical setting with ocean views! The staff are fantastic, smiling, helpful and kind. Food was great and very reasonably priced! The pool was my favourite!! Plenty of local beaches to explore and only a short tuk tuk ride to Matara town.

My stay at the Amaloh Hotel was incredible. The room was impeccable, luxurious, gigantic spaces, and best of all the bathroom outside with a shower and bathtub. Plus the pool and the exit to the sea, everything was incredible. The attention was the best of all, Chamal Fernando was very sweet and attentive at all times. It should be noted that I forgot a watch in the room and I had already left for Colombo, and Chamal Fernando together with his manager (both very honest) brought it to me to Colombo in person, taking responsibility for everything, the management and the delivery. I couldn't be more grateful for having chosen this hotel, and I will definitely return.
