Golden Sand Hotel

Horrible experience and I have three amazing experiences of why you shouldn’t stay here. 1) Initially we booked the full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner). When we arrived and tried to order lunch the waiters kept telling us the menu item we picked wasn’t included in our all inclusive. No octopus, no calamari, no fish, no lamp chops, no shrimp, no goat. We immediately changed our stay to a Breakfast only instead. When we talked to the receptionist, a blonde older women gave us incredible attitude towards this matter. When we mentioned leaving a bad review she said “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” 2) This place books events like birthdays or engagement parties. One night there was an engagement party and mind you the hotel is small and the rooms are right by the pool which is the location of the event. They played loud music which prevented us from going to bed. After midnight I called reception and they said it might continue until 1am but he wasn’t sure. This is a family friendly hotel and there were a lot of families with school age kids. It was not the best choice of this establishment to have a party continue until 1am. 3) The shower!!! I’ve never seen a shower where the place to hang the shower head points towards the toilet and sink. Usually it points inwards, to the tub, to keep the water inside. Not here :) Each time you want to shower the entire bathroom floods.

The staff are great, but it looks and feels like the owners have not spent a cent on it since it was built in the 70’s. So, it is tired. There’s nothing wrong with it - it is clean, staff are friendly and efficient, but it is not up to modern standards.
