Hotels Near Can Mutgé in Massanet de la Selva

We are currently staying at the Beverly Park Hotel and Spa. Let me just say that this is our 4th stay here over the past 5 years and we have loved it every time. So when the borders reopened after covid, naturally we couldn't wait to come back. I'm sad to say that things have changed, and not for the better. First things first: When we arrived check in was easy and we were given a beautiful pool view room... The cleaning ladies are brilliant and room is made up every day without fail. The hotel is stunning and we noticed a new addition if the kids pool which is lovely. However....... The hotel has a issue with people hogging/reserving sunbeds, often for hours with no one using them... There is no where near enough beds to go round for everyone given the numbers here currently so why is the management allowing this??? If you are not down on a sunbed by 9.30am then you can forget getting a sunbed. The management should do a 45 minute rule.. If you are not on that bed for 45 minutes, your towel should be removed to allow someone else the chance to use it. The management is allowing selfishness and its not fair. Secondly: the hotel is geared towards a certain clientèle .... The French. Hardly any staff speak English here but do speak French, and if you are English you are often ignored. The food labels in the dinning Hall are in Spanish and have no translation... Asking someone for translation is pointless as they just look at you blankly. The food is hit and miss now, breakfast is often the best meal time here in terms of variety. We also had an incident whereby my partner was sat at a dinner table waiting for me and a older French male sat down with him and refused to move as he wanted that table....there was other tables free but because he wanted THAT specific table he refused to move. My partner ended up arguing with him. His wife turned up, saw what her husband had done and shouted at him and walked away.. Leaving her husband there refusing to move. I arrived, saw what happened and decided to just move... No point arguing over a table. The point was a staff member witnessed the whole thing and didn't interject at all... Just shrugged her shoulders. Needless to say the whole experience here has been okay but tinged with moments of problems and frustration. We won't be coming back which is a shame as this place held fond memories.

The hotel is clean throughout, the reception team was very helpful with additional requirements, the restaurant had plenty of seating , the food was varied and plentiful , the bar staff around the pool where very friendly and the pools had plenty of tables and chairs and was kept clean and tidy at all times. The hotel is within walking distance of central LLoret, the bus station and local bars, shops and restaurants are straight across the road from the hotel, the beach is a little further. There was an international water polo event going on and the hotel was hosting a lot of teenagers at the time but on the whole they where well behaved if a little annoying. I was using the hotel as a base as we had quite a busy schedule for our five days, i was more than happy and the hotel served my purpose

The room was small but we asked for another room and they gave us, We were pleased by the services we got there. Room was cleaned every day and the breakfast was good. The location was excellent, so we enjoyed staying there.

My wife and I had misplaced a passport at Barcelona airport but only realised it on the way to Hotel Marsol. You can imagine how we felt. We were lucky to have been booked at Marsol because the assistance and support we had at reception from Aron and Racula could not have been better. They were the right people at the right place at the right time. They were calm and sympathetic and gave us wise advice. They knew the best way to go through the steps of locating or replacing a passport, the best forms of transport to take and made all the bookings for us so that all the thinking and planning was done for us. We wouldn't have known where to start. They helped us with the little things too. Aron offered to take our washing home and do it for us when we couldn't find a laundromat. Raluca had a picnic made for us to take on the early train back to Barcelona that left before the breakfast buffet opened. These little acts of kindness made a world of difference to us. There's more to Marsol than Aron and Racula, such as the location and the restaurant and bar, but what we will never forget was the service we got when we needed it most.

Not the best rooms and interiors to our hotel which was not the main building, quite dated with scruffy carpets and paintwork. We stayed bed and breakfast and maybe that's why we had zero amenities, no kitchen or kettle etc.. Only a very small pool and sunbed area but I suppose this is what you get in a city hotel. The main road next to it is a bit noisy at time with plenty of sirens going past regularly and large trucks and coaches. Our room was the closest to the road though. They come and change the bedding and empty the bin almost everyday, just not much cleaning to go with it. But for a cheap and cheerful place it's not the worst. There's much more to do and see in the area than hang around in here.

Pros: Right next to the beach, (although a hill to get back up) clean rooms, air con works lovely, Basic but ok rooms, mattress are far from premier inn quality, reception staff were lovely when I asked for another room as we had 2 single beds pushed together and being laminate floors and cheap metal bedframes they were parting during the night ( we were told there are VERY limited double beds available) however she nicely moved us which drastically improved our stay. Cons: 4 night stay paid all inclusive have other commitments we are budgeting for so fully intended not to have to spend much money HOWEVER the whole holiday has to revolve around the very structured badly organised all inclusive mealtimes (i use the term all inclusive loosly) there is no food available after 9pm at all. drinks stop at 11pm including soft drinks, snacks between mealtimes consist of cheese and ham sandwich and not much else, i will attach pictures showing the structure you will need to adhere to. The food is bland and either over or undercooked never cooked properly, chips have been sat there for a while or from the day before heated up, selection is very low compared to places i have stayed before. Never seen such a poor selection of badly cooked food. The hotel is noisy!!! Very noisy, not sure why but i have stayed in hotels plenty of tumes and don't hear all the noise from other rooms including full conversations possibly no protection built into the building for sound buffering. The pool as stated is 25 to 30 loungers no chance of getting one and not even enough room for all guests to be at the pool, way to small. Bar staff are not friendly, you pay 1euro for a cup ajd they are very strict, no cup no drink. No entertainment except the outdated DJ every now and then who can get everyone up dancing to flow rider and then drift into a front room party for hunself playing music fron his era New York New York and continues despite seeing the room has gone flat!! Main bugbear is schedule and lack of food selection between meals, also the 6 until 7.15 window of nothing available and after 9pm dinner finishes nothing then either. All Inclusive is a massive stretch. We ended up booking in a rush and i had ruled the hotel out based on reviews. I know i could have found better for the same money.

Pay attention guys! This is the first time that something like this happend to me. Very bad experience. Basically I paid for a sea view room. During the check in they said that the room I paid for was not available. And Mrs Amira (big liar) at the reception told me to trust her that hey would me pay back money. I spent one night there and than I asked for refounding but they didn't accept. I leave the hotel because I was really disgusted about the experience and they stole 450 euros from my credit card. Just a lot of excuses to not pay me back. I hope this review will help other tourists to not fall in my same mistake! If I have to go into details: room was very poor and dirty. The view is on train station (you hear the train passing all the time) and from hotel website it seems that the beach is really near the hotel but in truth you have to walk more than 10 minutes because of train station you have to do a large turn around. Absolutely not serious hotel at all. Liars!

OMG I saw these negative reviews few days before my holiday and I tried changing hotels but it was too late, I was prepared for the worst but to my greatest surprise I was wowed positively! Went from london with 3 kids and we had an amazing time! The front pool by the entrance looked more busy than the other one , the food was amazing , lots of variety , the staff were nice and helpful , rooms cleaned daily , slept in 507 and I didn’t hear noises from Next rooms like other reviews , it was amazing ! Daily entertainment downstairs , supermarket nearby , beach walking distance , McDonald’s Burger King walking distance ! This hotel doesn’t deserve all the negative comments sincerely !

There are free parking spaces and paid parking spaces at the door, which are suitable for less than 4 Euros a day. The opposite is the police station, and security is absolutely assured. There is a large supermarket within 100 meters, which is not to be worn! Breakfast is good, relatively rich relative to this price. There is no quality degradation due to the off-season. There is a swimming pool next to the restaurant. The front desk is very welcoming, a bit of a trip, English is better than me! The tourist tax is two people in 1 euro. The room has a hairdryer and no hot water
