Opero Hotel Southkey Johor Bahru

Extremely convenient location, situated right opposite Midvalley Southkey. Love the room, cosy but not too small. The staff were friendly and lobby was well maintained. 👍

Overated - Not Worth the Hype I recently stayed at this hotel and felt thoroughly disappointed. It’s incredibly overrated and does not deliver on its promises. The staff were unfriendly and seemed arrogant, which made my experience quite unpleasant from the start. During both check-in and check-out, I received no assistance with my luggage, which was unexpected and frustrating. I had booked a studio suite, expecting something special, but it felt no different from a standard room—nothing remarkable at all. The breakfast was embarrassingly basic, lacking variety and quality. I honestly didn’t get what I paid for and would not recommend this hotel. There are better options out there!

The hotel is conveniently located near midvalley southkey. Some eateries nearby which is good. Although you can walk to the mall, the hotel also provides shuttle service to the mall on an hourly basis. Was a little disappointed when I was told we cannot get a connecting room. When I booked the hotel and made the request then, they could have told me that due to the room type there’s no connecting room so that I can make the adjustment. However, they did not and I was only told about it when I checked in. Also, my room’s toilet has a bad smell after a while. Maybe can improve on the sanitary system of the hotel.
