Great place! Really friendly and helpful staff. Brilliant location too with so many shops and restaurants near by. We had mint tea and Moroccan biscuits on arrived, which was a lovely gesture. The restaurant is great too, very pretty surroundings and nice menu.

I had a pleasant stay. The facilities were modern and well-maintained, with a comfortable and clean room. The breakfast was varied and enjoyable, and the common areas were inviting. However, the staff could have been more attentive. While the service was efficient, a bit more friendliness and willingness to assist would have enhanced the experience.
Response from Property: Thank you for your feed back. Overall 4 is OK and we are sorry if for once we were not able to give a better picture of our usually fantastic service. It is the highest score on most social media guests back which means that we can still do better ...Sorry again.

The hotel was very nice and extremely confortable. Breakfast was amazing in that they even had gluten free bread which for those of us who cannot eat gluten is really special! The best part of this hotel though was the kindness and helpfulness of it's staff, impecable.
Response from Property: Thank you very much for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We are proud of our team and they deserve the recognition. Thanks again!

I have just returned from a weekend break with a friend . We were originally booked into the sister Riad, Karmela upon arrival late at night we were greeted with a complimentary drink each, as we had missed dinner and also a upgrade to Princess. Our room was very cosy , clean and comfortable. All of the staff were lovely and attentive. The food n the Karmela restaurant was amazing and there was a gentleman with a guitar singing some lovely mellow songs. Breakfast was also very good. I would highly recommend staying at this Riad. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Response from Property: Thank you very much Camilla for your feedback!

What a beautiful Riad. So much better than a hotel. Lovely rooms. We stayed in a junior suite with 3 beds. However 1 bed is up some very narrow stairs. Ok if you're fit and agile. The bathroom could do with modernising though. But the shower was nice and hot and powerful. Staff were fantastic and took care of us. They couldn't do enough. Wish we had a couple of more days there. We reached the Riad quite late and most restaurants had shut. But they served us a welcoming drink and a delicious lentil bean soup. The massage was ok. I have had better. Food -breakfast choice was plenty if you eat everything. They cater for gluten free although they thought gluten free and vegan was the same. Not much choice for vegans. Paratha style and corn bread were vegan. They had soya milk. The vegan dinner menu was almost non existence but they offered to make us food which was all tasty. The location is OK. Tucked away but that means no noise from outside. You would need to get a tuktuk to take you there unless you knew the alleyways We would return.
Response from Property: Thank you for your detailed feedback. We appreciate it!

Currently staying in the Riad Karmela Princesse. It’s about a 8 min walk from the main souk, and about 6 min walk from the closest place a taxi can drop off (so be prepared to carry some baggage). The staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful. They are very professional, friendly and speak excellent English, A real credit to the Riad. The suite we’ve booked is really nice, and there’s excellent wifi, the bed is a little hard, but the bathroom a little odd, with a separate toilet, shower and 2 sinks (but as the suite could sleep 3 or 4 I can understand this would be perfect). The extra bed is on a mezzanine level, but there’s no privacy screen. TV - not easy to fathom, but there’s nothing to watch unless you speak Arabic, Russian or Polish etc. There’s also a channel in English spouting some religious messages, and a Polish channel showing English language music videos. There’s no view of the outside at all, and we are concerned about privacy as the windows face in to the inside of the riad & the curtains don’t close completely- especially in the bathroom. Kettle, coffee & tea replenished daily & a bottle of water - very pleased!! Breakfast- 2 types of cold meats, 3 cheeses, decent selection of fruits (pomegranates are delicious), bread & 3 somewhat stale cereals. There was an omelette on show, so possibly they will make some eggs. 3 jugs of what looked like freshly squeezed orange (lovely) and a couple of coffee machines. Adequate, but a tiny bit disappointing. Would we stay here again? Possibly so, although I may look for somewhere with an outside window view.

Due to earthquake damage at our original riad, we had to quickly choose a new place for our 7 night stay so we were a bit nervous. The Karmela Princess turned out to be the perfect oasis for us! While the riad(s) are very special and the room was comfortable, well stocked and clean, the staff is beyond! Every person there went above and beyond, and we came out with new friends. Such a lovely group of people! Thank you for the hospitality and friendships!

I was staying at the Karmela Princesse when the earthquake hit Marrakech on 8th September. The response from owner Joel and the staff was extraorinary. Calm throughout they worked to inform and reassure. They kept us fed and hydrated, accomodated those who were reluctant to return to their rooms and facilitated changed travel plans. From the bottom of my heart I thank them for everything they did and promise to return very soon.
Response from Property: Thank you very much FreeByrdUK for taking the time to tell us about your experience in our Riad. We try to make each stay as unforgettable as possible, and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. We are glad to hear that you felt safe and taken care of during this extremely challenging and traumatising experience. It was difficult for everyone, and our team members have shown courage and resilience, so did our guests! Seriously, could not have asked for a better experience. All the staff is so sweet and amazing. They were so helpful and ready to give us recommendations on where to go or what to do. The riad itself is gorgeous and our rooms were straight out of a fairy tale. Really I highly recommend this riad if not for the friend staff and great serivce than for the absolutely perfect location. Really, if you are looking for a place that wont break the bank but is central to all the usual tourist spots than this is the place to go.

We had a lovely time in this authentic Riyadh. We had a suite which has its own sun terrace. Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the Riyadh is very centrally located. The staff were really pleasant and helpful especially Mohammed. Marrakesh was warm in the daytime but cool in the evening so it was lovely to sit by a cosy log fire in the evenings. We really enjoyed our time here.

Having just returned from a few days with friends to celebrate a milestone birthday...I wish I was still staying at this amazing riad. The service and staff were exceptional throughout our whole stay. Everyone was so helpful with advice, travel and made us feel so comfortable and welcome no matter what time of the day. No matter what time we came and went - there was always someone to meet and greet us either at our taxi drop off/pick up or at the front door. We never wanted for anything either it was drinks, snacks, an iron or support with local information. The Riad was beautiful, clean and comfortable and the food was so tasty. The location was central to Moroccan culture and we had the best time. We would definitely recommend this Riad as a place to stay and we really enjoyed using the spa facilities and really enjoyed the Hamman and scrub. We will be taking away some wonderful memories of Marrakesh as well as our stay in this stunning Riad. A massive thank you to all of the staff.
Response from Property: Thank you so much for your great feed back. We are so pleased that all went smoothly and our staff provided you good service. Thanks a lot

Lovely peaceful Riad with staff who couldn't do too much for us. Breakfast was great and the rooms comfy. Several roof terraces depending on how sociable we were feeling. A very short walk to the souks and the main square. Will definitely return.

The staff were all fantastic. Friendly, efficient and kind. I’ve travelled a lot and the staff at this Riad/Hotel were by far the best I’ve ever experienced. All were brilliant, but a special thanks to Said reception, Said hamam, Mohammed and Hayman waiters at the Princessa restaurant. Breakfast was good and very plentiful and I enjoyed lovely meals at both restaurants. The decor was authentic and restful.

We recently stayed and had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and engaging. The food was great and the choices at breakfast were unexpected and very welcome. We often drank in the bar in the late afternoon/early evening and the snacks provided with the drinks were nice and much appreciated. It was a nice touch that the staff would refill your wine glass for you etc. The only niggle we had about the staff was our interaction with one member whose comments did come across as being rude, but we have marked that down to words/tone being lost in translation. We found the room a bit crowded with items of furniture and would suggest trying to remove a couple of pieces to make the room easier to move around. We would also suggest looking at the lighting in the room. As the rooms face into the Riad’s Courtyard, they aren’t the brightest and this was made worse by curtains that could not be fully opened. We did not like our window being left open by the cleaning staff. The little extras in the bedroom were great – fresh bottled water, dates, toiletries etc. Most guests do not expect their towels to be changed each day so I would suggest that you adopt the usual policy of asking guests to throw their towels in the shower if they’d like them replaced. The Riad was nicely decorated with a great atmosphere. For light sleepers, the room was a little noisy as you could (a) hear a local cockerel most mornings, (b) the setting up of breakfast and/or (c) those staying in the bar area later in the evening.
