It was really nice to be in the authentic riad inside the city wall. I love visiting the local placed with local food. They welcomes me with a nice cup of mint tea. breakfast was good. I love the birds chirping every morning.

This Riad has seen better days but the welcome is warm and efficient. The room, large and air-conditioned, was clean and cleaned every day. All sites are less than 15 minutes away on foot. I highly recommend for backpackers and relaxed travelers. Chochotes, go your way. Unbeatable price/performance ratio.

Abdul and Karim were great during our entire trip. They came to pick us up from the airport at 2am for only €15 and were available whenever needed. The ryad has a nice rooftop to relax in the evening, a beautiful indoor swimming pool and an excellent breakfast. The excursions offered are quality (we went to Ouzoud). The Ryad is quite well located, 5 minutes from the Saadian tombs and 15 minutes from Jemaa-el-fna. I highly recommend the ryad for couples or families!
A big thank you to Abdul and Karim for this wonderful stay!

Couldn’t be happier with our experience at Riad Mandalay! Iheb, Abdul and the women who upkeep the riad made us feel extremely welcome in a new country we have never been to before. They advised us what to do whenever we asked for help and went completely out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied at all times. Honestly a beautiful and simple riad that is perfect for anyone who would rather appreciate culture and experience over a typical hotel. No menu for dinner and breakfast made an exciting surprise and food was always delicious. Any time we asked for tea we were given it. Employees made us feel very safe and looked after, as two young females travelling alone. And involved themselves in socialising with us and other guests during breakfast and on the terrace in the evening. A little tricky to find at first as is located down a side street but there are many taxis in close proximity which we used- and got them too and from Kasbah Mosque (the road is a three minute walk from there). Would definitely return here if visiting the area again. Iheb also walked us to location we couldn’t find and Abdul went to the pharmacy for me when I hurt my leg. Just amazing people that we were so greatful to be surrounded by. I hope everyone who visits has a just as amazing time as we did. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and advise and be open minded- you’re in Marrakesh not Monaco!!!

The Riad is very authentic. The people that run it are lovely . If you are expecting a 4 star Hilton experience, this is not it, if you want an authentic experience, clean room, good breakfast, nice roof terrace to sit on, mint tea and good staff then you will not go wrong here. It’s in a great central location, easy walking to all local landmarks. Abdul met is from the taxi drop as it was late after a flight delay. The staff got us a bottle of water, already had the room heated and made sure we were comfortable. They were very kind.

We booked here as we got a great deal. We arrived at night and as the taxi couldn’t drop us off at the Riad we had to walk only 4mins but we got lost. It was quite scary walking the alleys not knowing where we were going. We were given a ground floor room no windows apart from the bathroom which looks out onto the central area. We were offered to change our room the next day but we were only staying for 3 night and only using it to sleep. Bed wasn’t comfy but the room was cosy due to the blankets on the bed. No choices for meals but what we were served each evening was lovely(Moroccan tagine) we booked dinner and breakfast but didn’t have breakfast till the last morning due to booking trips. We booked Ourika valley and hot air balloon via TripAdvisor which were great and our pick up was only a few minutes away. Overall for what we paid we can’t complain. I would book again as it’s close to most sights 15min walk from main square . Staff were very attentive.

friendly staff, suitable rooms, didn't try the food. strange lack of presence at nighttime from staff but this may be how most riad's are run as it was our first time. pictures are what you get, it is lovely and scenic and close to the city centre.

We arrived late on our first night and were given 2 choices of rooms which didn’t have any windows . But was allowed to move the following day upstairs . Which was an improvement. It was clean but tired looking , it did state that there was a rooftop terrace with hot tub …. this was not the case and was untidy and not that clean . We had 5nights here and I must say that was enough 3 would have been better . Do think the pictures which are in the website need to be upgraded as they are out of date .

We purchased flights and accommodation combined and ended up with this riad. We really should have done more research. The beds were clean, the bathroom survivable but it is very dated and certainly not 4 star, like we were led to believe. We were asked if we wanted a room upgrade, which we agreed too, only if the room was better. It was not! We were challenged when we pointed out that our booking was for a triple room and not a standard double - not great for female travellers! However, after some discussion were transferred back to our original room. The courtyard isn't very inviting, with an odd assortment of furniture and could do with a good scrub. We didn't date use the pool, as the water was still, full of flies and looked like it wasn't being filtered. The roof terrace was nice to sit at, but because the food and tea were so bad, we ended up out all of the time. We were served raw chicken on first night - I had checked in advance and we were sent a menu... be warned, there is no choice and they prefer you to pay in Euros, which works out more expensive. For dessert we were served half eaten pastries 🤢 Because of this we only had breakfast on our last day - wish we hadn't, as there were hairs in the jam. If you stay here, eat out - there are some fabulous local restaurants in Kasbah. We witnessed two female travellers, who in fairness, were silly enough to leave a negative review with three more nights to stay, being treated appallingly. Hence, our review is being written now that we are home.

The worst. A dingy hovel, not like the photos. Should be avoided at all costs. Feels like a 2 star, possibly 1 star. Missing door handles, dirty curtains, shoddy paintwork. Cold food. Bedroom doors have locks on outside too. Please do not come here.
